The college is the best for studying. Any doubt will be solved by the faculty. Overall, its good.
Placements: Everything is ok. I need to work very hard to get a job. But its worth it. Many got the job and are doing well. I am just a 2nd year student. So I dont know the details. But this year, I heard that a high percentage of students were placed in our course.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi available if needed. Labs and classrooms are okay. Some labs dont have AC for obvious reasons. Classrooms dont have AC. Library is good. The books will be given from the library every semester. We dont have to worry about books. There is no hostel facility in St. Thomas.
Faculty: The faculty is very good. The teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is good. The course curriculum makes the students industry ready. No need to study from outside. The syllabus will be studied by all and will be covered by the faculty. The semester exams are not that difficult if studied.
Other: Well, I chose this course because of its excellent faculty. The college is doing its best to give us the best of the best.

Average college with decent infrastructure and good placement, with great opportunities in sports.
Placements: Placement is quite better than other institutions present out there in Kolkata. When a student is pursuing in the 6th semester then, some companies like Namora and P360 come with a great internship offer of 7.5 LPA to 8 LPA. Other side, TCS, Infosys, and MindTree come with great opportunities with an offer of an average package of 4 LPA to 5 LPA, which varies. Almost 95% of students get their placements after 7th semester. So, we can offer a good kind of placement. Top role like SDE is offered.
Infrastructure: If we talk about the infrastructure of college which may affect your decision while choosing this college. It is not that good, not so much big a decent infrastructure is provided with good quality of lab and equipment. There is a normal as well as a digital library option. A good decent canteen facility is available. Since there is no hostel, a basic medical facility is provided during college days. If we talk about sports, there is a great opportunity for a sportsperson to showcase their skill in badminton, football, cricket, and table tennis. An annual sports event is also organised.
Faculty: If we talk about our faculty members, they are good and some of them are very knowledgeable. Some teachers put their entire energy into making students understand the concept and technology. The courses that are provided are not enough at this time, students must focus on their self-development with skills in different domains. As much as they gain skills, they are good at competing with other students. If we talk about the semester exam, this college comes under MAKAUT, a well-known university. So the exams are not that tough. One can easily score good marks in the semester.
Other: I chose this course because this course is very in demand. In this course, one will learn coding from the very basics with artificial intelligence and machine learning technology and gain great practical knowledge. Everyone is nearly too good about this course. Events like freshers' welcome party, tech fest, and cultural fest are organised by college committee. Many hackathon, debate, and project analysis are organised by the college. Many other seminars are also organised for awareness.

St. Thomas College: satisfactory faculty, great placements in 2015, really good infrastructure.
Placements: About 60% of the students were placed for the last session. LTI Mindtree rounds are ongoing, with Cognizant starting in the middle of October. The highest package has been 7.63 LPA at NRI Fintech, while the average dims below 5 LPA. Top recruiters like LTI Mindtree and Cognizant are yet to complete their rounds. The top roles offered are junior software developers and data analysts, with a meager 7% of students currently eligible for internships.
Infrastructure: There is no availability of free wifi in the college, with an internet connection only provided in software labs for working. Classrooms are average with no smart boards installed. Faulty projectors lead to disruptions in lectures. While the library is very well organized and maintained, unfortunately, it is perhaps only for the students to see exist, since getting to work on library computers is tedious, with a plethora of processes to go through. Just about decent staffing and communication help us survive the library hours. Facilities are not very well equipped, and getting monetary support for projects is near to impossible. Teachers are very good at lectures, though, with some of them even entertaining doubts from students well past working hours. The food available in the canteen is surely edible, but I don't think it's fair to call it good; it would be an insult to good food. They are bland and flavorless, yet getting that food takes a toll with massive lines inside a small canteen. Medical facilities are well provided on the campus, with sports like badminton, cricket, and football being regularly played by students.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and amiable, with all of them having a vast amount of knowledge in their respective fields. The teaching quality is excellent. The course curriculum is little to barely relevant to what the current industry asks from an engineer these days. The semester exams are well monitored and maintained, with little room for any wrongdoings. The pass percentage is about 30% with around a 4 CGPA per semester.
Other: I wanted to find a way to work in machine learning and data science, hence my choice of this field of study. I don't regret studying it. I've learned so much about artificial intelligence via this course, but I would improve the introduction to technical subjects like front-end, back-end, and full-stack development, in-depth DBMS, and cloud computing, with practicals done using AWS, among others.

It is a good knowledge hub.
Placements: In our batch 2023, almost 90% of students were placed with the average package of 4 LPA. The recruiting companies were Mindtree, Cognizant, ITC Infotech, Tech Mahindra, Infosys, P360, and Namura. Every student got internships in the companies where they were selected.
Infrastructure: St. Thomas doesn't provide any hostel facility but we have a great cafeteria. We have 5 departments computer science engineering, information technology engineering, selection and communication engineering, electrical engineering, AI, and machine learning engineering.
Faculty: Our course features expert faculty members with real-world experience, a well-structured, industry-relevant curriculum, and rigorous exams designed to test practical knowledge and critical thinking. This ensures students gain a deep understanding, stay updated with trends, and are well-prepared for professional success.
Other: Currently, St' Thomas organizes some great fests and tech fests. We are good at sports also.

The infrastructure is better than before, and placements are good in 2025.
Placements: This college has placements for approximately 80% of students in 2025. I am from the 2027 pass out batch, and the probability is high to getting on-campus jobs from here is really high. Top recruiting companies include Infosys, Cognizant, Tata Consultancy, Mindtree, etc. Most are junior/senior software engineers as well as managers.
Infrastructure: The library is huge with a different collection of books, but it only consists of semester books and nothing else for other purposes of gaining knowledge. The laboratories are perfect for any kind of coding, designing, and AutoCAD classes. We have different categories of computer laboratories. This college even has Physics and Chemistry labs for first-year students. The canteen serves good food, and the college has recently changed the canteen supplier as well. Sports events keep taking place on the college campus.
Faculty: Teachers give their 100% effort while guarding during exams and roam around the class for 3 hours straight. The faculty is very supportive before exams if any doubt is raised. The average CGPA is 8-8.5 for semester exams, and the pass percentage is the same as MAKAUT. Grade D is the lowest grade to pass.
Other: I choose B. Tech in Computer Engineering because it has the highest probability of jobs in recent times. I would personally prefer to improve in this course if they focus on coding languages from the beginning and not on subjects like Chemistry, Economics, and Biology. We have a fest once a year, and all students would really appreciate it if some external band is invited to the show.

The college is good but you don't enjoy college life.
Placements: This year, around 60% to 65% of students got placed in companies like TCS, Tech Mahindra, Infosys, Wipro, and Cognizant. The highest salary package offered is 45 LPA by Flipkart. The lowest salary package offered is 4.2 LPA. Internship opportunities are low in this college, we have to apply off-campus to get internships.
Infrastructure: All labs are in good condition but Wi-Fi has low internet speed. Canteen food is decent.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and qualified. But if one is not from Bengal, it can be a little difficult at times because some teachers use Bengali language. Semester exams are not difficult much, if we are good at studying we can score good marks in exams. If one wants good placement, then we need to score at least above 8 CGPA.
Other: We don't enjoy much of a college life here. The dress is compulsory in college and only freshers and farewell parties are organized. In this college, one might feel more like a school.
