Great academics, strong extracurricular, and good infrastructure.
Placements: At St. Xavier's College, Mumbai, approximately 28% of undergraduate students were placed in 2023. The highest package offered was 30 LPA, with an average of 6-8 LPA. Top recruiters include JP Morgan, HUL, Morgan Stanley, Accenture, Axis Bank, and Deloitte. About 30% of students secured internships, with roles in statistical analytics and data handling.
Infrastructure: St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai, offers Wi-Fi-enabled classrooms, well-equipped labs, a vast library, and AV facilities for an enriched learning experience. The hostel is well-maintained but has limited seats. The canteen serves decent, affordable food. Medical facilities include a first-aid center. Sports facilities include a gymkhana and grounds for football, basketball, and cricket, ensuring a balanced academic and extracurricular experience.
Faculty: St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai, has highly qualified and knowledgeable faculty, ensuring strong academic support. The teaching quality is excellent, with interactive and practical learning methods. The curriculum is relevant but could include more industry-oriented skills. Semester exams are moderately difficult, requiring conceptual clarity. The pass percentage is around 85-90%, reflecting a well-balanced academic rigor.
Other: St. Xavier’s offers top-notch faculty, a well-structured curriculum, and strong industry exposure. Events like Malhar make campus life exciting, with a diverse student crowd and excellent connectivity. While placements and syllabus updates can improve, the college excels in extracurriculars, scholarships, and overall student experience, making it one of Mumbai’s most prestigious institutions.

Vibrant college with a good return on investment.
Placements: St. Xavier's College Mumbai has its own placement cell. The highest package (for BMS) is Rs. 30,00,000 per annum. The average package is 6 LPA - 7 LPA. For internships, companies do come to the college but they have very few openings so students search for internships on their own. Some companies that come for the placements are Brain and Company, J. P Morgan, McKinsey, Delloite, PwC, etc.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are good, but since it is an old building. Some classes aren't well maintained. The library is amazing, with a vast array of books of all kinds. The canteen food is good, but a bit price. There is a boys hostel in the college. Students do get access to Wi-Fi, but it isn't available everywhere.
Faculty: Faculty members are exceptional. They are all very approachable and quite good at teaching. They are graduates from some of the top universities and have a lot of experience. The course curriculum is extensive and relevant to the current job requirements. The college is academically rigorous. The exams are a bit difficult.

The college has its merits and demerits.
Placements: More or less, the internships are with Stanly Morgan, but the departmental internships are not up to par. It's better to find your own internships via LinkedIn. It is said that the companies are in plenty, but that feels like a lie. Overall, just because of the name, you can get placements wherever you want.
Infrastructure: There are no ACs, but the overall infrastructure is nice. The projector works fine. The Gymkhana is nice, and the sports in college are plentiful. The library has its own vibe; it feels like you are studying in Hogwarts, but the books are outdated in many aspects. The lending and reference libraries are two different libraries.
Faculty: It's more theoretical. It would be more practical to have real-life field visits, but the college doesn't have that. It gives you a better understanding of how real life works. Most of the faculty hired are real-life working professionals, and their insights help a lot.
Other: The fests are plentiful, but after a while, it feels forced to participate to earn ECC points.

Life at St. Xavier's College.
Placements: Out of 120 students last year, approximately 50 were placed in top firms like HUL, Accenture, EY, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, and Brain. Top roles offered by the companies are consulting roles in marketing and finance. The highest package offered was 36 LPA by HUL.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is old, and although it is beautiful because of its legacy and historical relevance, there is no air conditioning in most classrooms other than 2 or 3. The canteen food is very good, with great variety in all kinds of cuisines. Most hostel students rely on the canteen for all meals.
Faculty: The faculty members are highly qualified and helpful to all students. They are welcoming and take extra measures to ensure students are able to grasp the concepts clearly. The curriculum is very relevant with a lot of real-life applications. The exams are challenging, with a pass percentage of 40%.

Great campus life and networking with some amazing and inspiring people.
Placements: For the bachelor's of mass media course, placements are usually average as the media industry requires skills and work experience more rather than the degree. Many students get placed in startups for digital marketing, advertising, and content writing.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is great. It was built in 1900. It is still maintained well. There are labs for each department. However, the AC is available only in the lab, not in classrooms. Wi-Fi is there for both students and teachers separately. The library is huge and you can find rare books to research. The canteen in the college provides all types of cuisine at an economical price.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified and knowledgeable. There are many guest lecturers who are experienced in their industries for a very long time to provide value to students. They give internships too. However, the curriculum is not extremely great as it gives an overview of the media industry and not in-depth concepts to a specific.
Other: I chose the course because it is the most closed course to enter the filmmaking industry as it gives me a connection to various people who are directors, editors, and producers who are alumni. Teachers also have contacts.

Vibrant campus life with strong academics and excellent placements.
Placements: The placement statistics for the batch of 2023 from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai, reflect strong industry engagement. Approximately 85% of students were successfully placed, with the highest package being 12 LPA, the lowest being 3.5 LPA, and an average of 6 LPA. Top recruiting companies included TCS, Deloitte, EY, and KPMG. Additionally, 70% of students secured internships at organizations such as Infosys, Wipro, and Google. The top roles offered were business analyst, data scientist, marketing executive, and financial analyst, showcasing the versatility and skillset of the graduates.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure for my course at St. Xavier's College, Mumbai, is well-equipped with modern classrooms, high-speed Wi-Fi, and specialized labs for practical learning. The library offers a vast collection of academic resources. The hostel facilities are decent, with comfortable rooms and access to recreational areas. The mess provides hygienic and nutritious food, and the canteen offers a variety of snacks. Medical facilities are available on campus, ensuring student health and safety. Additionally, the campus has provisions for various sports and games, encouraging a balanced student life.
Faculty: The faculty for my course at St. Xavier's College, Mumbai, were highly qualified, knowledgeable, and supportive. The teaching quality was excellent, with interactive sessions and a focus on practical understanding. The curriculum was well structured and industry-relevant, preparing students for professional challenges. Semester exams were moderately challenging, requiring a solid understanding of concepts, but with regular effort, they were manageable. The pass percentage for the course was around 90%, reflecting the effectiveness of the curriculum and the support provided by the faculty.
Other: I chose the B.Com. at St. Xavier's College, Mumbai, because of its strong academic reputation and the course's alignment with my career goals. The best things about the course are the well-rounded curriculum, experienced faculty, and ample opportunities for practical exposure. However, I wish there were more industry interactions and workshops. Campus life is vibrant, with a diverse and talented crowd from all over the country. Events like Malhar and Janfest are major highlights, fostering creativity and networking. The college is well-connected with the city and surrounded by cafes, cultural landmarks, and more. Extracurricular activities and scholarships add to the dynamic student life, making the overall experience enriching.
