SID Pune offers BDes in four major disciplines, namely Communication Design (Graphic Design, User Experience Design, Animation, Film Design, Video Film Design), Industrial Design (Product Design, Interior Space Design), Fashion Design and Fashion Communication. After filling the application form, aspirants are required to appear for Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED) followed by Portfolio Review and Personal Interaction.

Candidates must have completed Class 12 or equivalent, or Class 10 plus a three-year diploma, with at least 50% aggregate (45% aggregate for SC/ST) in order to be admitted to the Symbiosis Institute of Design's B.Des program. To be eligible for admission, candidates must also take the Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED). The computer-based SEED exam is administered online. The exam measures the candidate's foundational understanding of design, art, craft and culture, environment, and logic in Science and mathematics. Candidates must have a valid SEED score in order to apply for admission to SID. The SEED score is only valid for one year. Candidates may apply to any BDes specialisation while they are taking the final year exam.

Yes, Symbiosis Institute of Design provides admission to BDes course based on Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED) score. SEED exam evaluates candidates on parameters like color, geometry, visual observations, general design awareness, creative thinking abilities, and awareness of Indian culture, craft, traditions, etc. Aspirants shortlisted as per SEED score are further called for Portfolio Review and Personal Interaction (PRPI).
