B.E. in Chemical Engineering - Batch of 2026
5.0
TSEC gives wings to its students and is the best.
Placements: Around 66 students from our batch were placed. The highest salary package offered in our course was about 7.5 LPA, which is a good package. The lowest was 5.5 LPA, which is also a good package. Top recruiting companies are Ambuja Cement, JSW Steel, and other pharmaceutical companies, etc.
Infrastructure: Facilities provided by the college are quite decent. Labs are clean, and all safety measures are taken while conducting experiments during practical sessions. Classrooms are also clean and well-managed by caretakers, so overall everything is good.
Faculty: Faculty members of our college are very cooperative and kind. They are always ready to help, not only with academic studies but also with events and project work. Students also like to take their opinions because they are best to help in a project work. The curriculum is relevant.

It is a good college, but it can be better.
Placements: For the chemical branch, few companies visit our college, but for IT and CS, a good amount of companies visit our college. Teachers help us with the aptitude and for company interviews. Our college is good for placements even for chemical though there are fewer companies.
Infrastructure: Our college has buildings. The new building is good and maintained, but our old building is of 6 floors, so they need to do a lot of work. Labs are good. The new building could be together that would be wonderful.
Faculty: Faculty members of our college are helpful, cooperative, and they guide us. They maintain discipline, and we follow it. They even consider us when things are tough. They help us if we want to publish our presentation for further studies which is good.
Other: We conduct Chemergence, which is a part of IICHE student body.

The best 4 years of my life between 2 buildings and 17 floors.
Placements: Placement is average the highest salary being offered in 36 lacs pa and the lowest being 4 Lacs pa by mass recruiters. Companies like Delloite, Accenture, L&T, TCS, Relaince, BNP PARIBAS, and JPMC to name a few. There is a training and placement cell to help the students with placements by organising seminars and details and training on how to go with the placements. It's also upon the persons personality how he/she tackles the interview.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is moderate with AC labs and classrooms. There are two buildings the old and New with 3 departments in each one of them. Chemical, biotechnology and biomedical in old building. Computers, IT and EXTC ( electronics and telecommunications) in the new building. Old building has 6 floors and new building has 11.
Faculty: Faculty is good and very helpful. Each depart has a few doctorates. Makes sure the subject is well taught and understood well by students. Various seminars are taken on different topics in subjects for the betterment. There are various surveys forms each month for students on how the teacher has been in that month so that the faculty can be improved.
Other: TRIFLES being the biggest fest. Location of the college takes it a notch Higher plus you can expect a lot of sindhi crowd from Ulhasnagar as there is a 50% sindhi quota in each engineering departments.

Not very much satisfied with the faculty members, and the crowd was good on the campus.
Placements: The placements on the campus were not good that is less than 20% of the students got placed in the core field. A few got selected in the IT branch as well. The placement was good for the IT sector, and below average for chemical and nil for Biomed and biotech. The highest paygrade was given by Reliance Industries of 5. 5 LPA for chemical, and they picked three students. For IT sector, it was around 10 LPA. Wipro, Morgan Stanley, Delloite, Accenture, Infosys, GEP, Capgemini were a few companies for IT sector.
Infrastructure: The college has two buildings, old and new. The old building is not in good shape, but the new building is good. There are paid Wi-Fi services on the campus. The classrooms are good. Almost all the books are available in the library related to the syllabus. The food quality in the canteen was below average. There used to be lots of committees and cultural/non-cultural festivals during our time. Now they are dissolved as far as I know(except few). Only infrastructure problem faced during the college tenure was the issue of lifts. We used to climb all the 11-floors of the new building during the exam times and sometimes during the normal lectures.
Faculty: It consisted mixed quality of teaching. Some were good, and a few were poor and average. A few always used to make us write. A few gave priority to make us understand the basic methods for problem-solving and some did nothing. The course curriculum was helpful for those who paid attention.

I am absolutely dissatisfied with the professors.
Placements: The placements were too good for other branches except chemical, biotechnology and biomedical branches. Otherwise, the placements are decent. 60-70% of the students are placed, and the average CTC is 3.5 LPA. Companies like Accenture, Deloitte, Capgemini, BNP Paribas, visited the campus.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is not good for chemical, biotechnology, and biomedical branches. There are two buildings, one is old and other is a new building. The new building is assigned to IT, computers and electronics engineering branches. There is no renovation done of the old building, and the canteen isn't quite good.
Faculty: The faculty are okay. They aren't approachable or helpful. Some professors are exceptionally good. The course curriculum is too bad, a lot of theory and no practical knowledge. No internship opportunities are there in the college. The college is pretty fair, and you must not settle for this college if you want to take up biotechnology, biomedical and chemical until you have your own contacts in the external world.

Honest and factful. Among top 5 institutes under Mumbai University.
Placements: Every year 30 offers come by. There are more offers for job than there are students. In the year 2016, 660 offers came for total 572 students in total. They prepare you well for the interview. The TPO is very nice, very kind and helpful.
Infrastructure: Everything you need to be an engineer is present. The campus is as good as nothing. Space constraints. But it's in the heart of Bandra. The college canteen is cheap, hygienic. There are 2 buildings basically- old and new. In the old building, you have non-computer branches such as chemical, biomedical, biotechnology. In the new building, comps, IT, EXTC.
Faculty: The faculty is lenient, supportive, and qualified enough to make you an engineer. But IT department is tough. They are very very cheerful. They support in every possible way they can. The teachers use various teaching methods such as projectors, supportive charts. Students to faculty ratio is 69:1 but depends upon the branch. The teaching level is up to NIT level. Being a Mumbai University college, they are not less in terms of studies.
Other: Creamy crowd. The ambience is like colleges which you see in movies seriously. Surrounded by RD National (the famous) and MMK College (college of many many bollywood actors, comedians, models). Enjoy life at TSEC and make your engineering successful and enjoyable.

Overall a good college with good cut off. Hence, the crowd is also satisfactory.
Placements: The placements are good for IT and Computers while decent for electronics. For chemical, fair and for biomedical, poor. The highest salary is 5 LPA while the average is 3-4 LPA. Packages offered by the college are good with at least 60 percent of people placed.
Infrastructure: There are two buildings, one old and one new. The new building comprises of the admin and computer labs and the principal's office while the old building had a library and chemistry labs. The old building have normal classrooms as compared to new buildings which are comparatively better.
Faculty: The faculty members are immensely experienced and a good source of books in the library. The placement faculty is also decent, hence good companies come. Overall, the faculty members are satisfactory. The faculty members are really helpful and give proper guidance. Hence, must go to this college even though the fees are high.
Other: The college doesn't have its own playground and it relies on the national college campus for that. The locality of college is one of the best. Transportation is also convenient DJ Sanghvi is a similar college to TSEC. Overall, the crowd is the positive side of the college.

One of the well-known colleges in Mumbai University. TSEC has a brand name.
Placements: Placement in the core chemical is worst as only 7 people got placed. Rest went for IT or sales jobs. There were NGOs also which took part in placements. Many of the IT people were having two job opportunities in hand but the chemical people were struggling to get a job.
Infrastructure: There are two buildings, one is of 11 floors and the second is of 6 floors. There are good labs for IT and electronics people and chemical people as well. There is a good library on the 4th floor of the old building and it is worth to go and read there. There is no such big campus so there was no room for playing cricket. But people used to play table tennis in a room.
Faculty: Everyone in the chemical department was holding masters or Ph.D. degree. My course duration was of four years and it included different subjects of chemical engineering. The faculty is helpful and friendly. They conducted field visits for industrial exposure.
Other: If you got admission in Thadomal then one thing you must do that is taking part in the cultural or extracurricular activities like joining different societies and conducting their event. It is a lot of fun. We have our annual cultural fest named as Trifles.

The timings vary from one institute to another. It would be better if you contact the colleges directly for the information.
