One of the best college for academics and placements with good campus life.
Placements: Very good placements in this college. Good core companies come to our college. Almost every student in our college is getting placed. The placement percentage is around 70 percent for all the branches, but majorly CSE students get more placements, such as Impetus, Infosys, and Visista.
Infrastructure: Classroom infrastructure is very good with Wi-Fi facilities, digital boards, and projectors. We also have separate libraries for separate departments and a central library with Wi-Fi and AC facilities. Hostels are okay with average food quality. We also have a dispensary on our campus for medical purposes.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified with good knowledge. They also solve doubts in the classroom, but they skip topics if time is not sufficient, and they take extra classes. In this college, exams are quite difficult with a very hard syllabus and tough question papers. They also conduct workshops for every semester.
Other: Teachers are supportive with good career guidance. We also have a placement cell for any students with startup ideas. Fests are held twice or thrice per year. Students also receive scholarships from different sources.

Good placement and satisfied with the teaching and infrastructure of the college.
Placements: 60-70% of students get placed. The remaining students are preparing for GATE and other PSUs. Better placements with good repetition companies and good packages. 8 LPA is the best package, and 4 LPA is the least package. Good guidance is provided in placement training and other activities.
Infrastructure: Hostels are old, but the new hostel construction is going on. Already, they have constructed a new hostel for 1st years, and a 4th year hostel was built in 2019. For the remaining, a new hostel is being constructed. Departments have good infrastructure, and they are developing labs up to date.
Faculty: The teachers are qualified and knowledgeable. They have completed PhDs in their respective subjects. The curriculum designed by the college is so relevant. The semester exam is a little difficult, so it is up to us to improve our knowledge. Each department has an 80% pass percentage.

Good college. Worth studying for oneself.
Placements: Almost every student in our college gets very good companies. The highest package is nearly 20 LPA, and the lowest is 4 LPA. The top recruiting company is Moschip, where almost all got internships. Top roles offered are as an analog engineer and a digital engineer.
Infrastructure: I never went to college, but there is a facility of Wi-Fi. The quality of the facilities in our hostel, the quality of food available in the mess and canteen, sports, and games are above average. Sometimes there is no Wi-Fi in the hostel. The ground facilities are also good.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is very good. The teachers help when we have doubts. The course curriculum is relevant to the industry, and the syllabus is also related to GATE. Semester exams are tough. The pass rate is about 75 percent.
Other: I am interested in electronics, so I chose this course because it is the best thing that I have seen. This college has freedom. I think the lab facilities in the college must be improved. There are very few events.

I am absolutely satisfied with our department because it got so many GATE ranks in 2024.
Placements: Almost every student in our college gets placed in a very good company. The highest package is about 24 LPA, and the lowest package is 4 LPA. The average package is around 10 LPA. The top recruiting companies are Moschip Technologies and TCS. Almost 90 percent of students got internships from my course in the companies I mentioned above. The top roles are software engineer, VLSI/Semiconductor engineer, Hardware design engineer (PCB design, circuit design, and testing).
Infrastructure: There are Wi-Fi facilities in the classrooms, labs, and library also. The infrastructure of classrooms and the library is very good. The quality of food available in the mess and canteen is very good. There is also a dispensary which has very good facilities. Many sports and games competitions are conducted every year.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. They have so many types of experience, and they give so much guidance to our careers. The teaching quality is excellent. The course curriculum is very relevant, as it prepares the students for industry-ready skills. The course curriculum is very relevant to the GATE exam. The semester exams are somewhat difficult in this college. This pass percentage is 80 percent.
Other: I chose this course because I have a strong interest in electronics, semiconductors, and VLSI technologies. I wish that there were mini-projects in every semester. In this college, the fests are very few. In a year, there are only two fests. There are so many extracurricular activities in our college, like clubs. There are so many types of clubs, like singing clubs, dancing clubs, etc. Many scholarship organizations also come to our college and give scholarships to poor and needy students. The campus surroundings are very good, and it is located in a city.

It's a decent college with good academic support.
Placements: The placements in our college are excellent. Every student who studies in CSE and ECE gets placed in good companies. Our college gets good core companies and software companies. The only thing we should focus on is maintaining a good CGPA. They teach us topics related to the GATE exam also.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is very good in our departments, but not as good as much in hostels, especially the 1st year hostel is not very good. A new hostel is constructed for 1st year students, which is also good. Coming to the second year, third year and final year hostels, the hostels are very good, the mess food is also acceptable, with chicken twice a week.
Faculty: Our faculty teachers teach the concept very well and explain the perspective as per the GATE exam. They are well qualified and PhD holders, but sometimes describe the topic due to a lack of time, so sometimes we should study on our own, referring to YouTube and Google.
Other: The crowd and campus life in our college are decent, and fests are held in our college nearly 2 to 3 times per year, which is less compared to other engineering colleges and in the surrounding. We have beautiful places to travel to, and each is also nearby. So many people come from other states also, and the campus is full of greenery.

Q:   Which has better placement at University College of Engineering, Kakinada, B.Tech CSE or B.Tech ECE?
A:

Few product-based and core-sector organizations visit JNTUK to recruit students; consequently, relatively few people are placed.

The majority of those in the jntuk will be visited and recruited by service-based IT enterprises. But they will interview and hire candidates regardless of the technical field. However, everything relies on the students that showed up for the placement. Most likely, the top 5 branches have 20 to 35 individuals.

Computer Science engineering would come up when discussing IT employment.

The total number of placements in each field, including core employment and IT, varies from year to year. 2017 saw a respectable amount of placements for CSE, Civil, and ECE.

Q:   How is CGPA calculated in University College of Engineering, Kakinada - Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada?
    A:

The CGPA provided for a student by JNTUK is the Cumulative grade point for a student’s overall performance throughout all the semesters in a program. The CGPA is calculated by taking into account all the courses undergone by a student in all the semesters of a programme, i.e. CGPA = Σ (Ci X Si) / ΣCi Where Si is the SGPA of the ith semester and Ci is the total number of credits in that semester.

As per the B.Tech (R16) academic regulations of JNTUK, Kakinada, the following is
the procedure for the computation of Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA).

    SGPA (Si) = Σ (Ci X Gi) / Σ Ci

Where Ci is the number of credits of the ith course and Gi is the grade point
scored by the student in the ith course.

The CGPA is calculated by taking into account all the courses undergone by
a student in all the semesters of a programme, i.e.

    CGPA = Σ (Ci X Si) / Σ Ci

Where Si is the SGPA of the ith semester and Ci is the total number of
    credits in that semester.

The equivalent percentage can be calculated as per the below formula for the
B.Tech students who obtains their degrees under R16 regulations ie. 2016-17
admitted batch onwards (2017-18 batch onwards for lateral entry scheme).

    Equivalent Percentage = (CGPA – 0.75) X 10

No, you won't get a seat in JNTUK in any branch. Because top rankers will choose this university as their priority and seats may almost fill with the top rankers. So, choose another unkversity like JNTUV, JNTUA, JNTU, Narasaraopeta, etc.All the best!
