Worth it in every respect except money- No monetary support from the institute.

Placements: Almost every Ph.D. scholar secured a job after graduation with an average package of 60k pm. The highest package was probably 1L pm. Higher packages were offered by private colleges in South India region especially Telangana & Andhra Pradesh. Most common job profile was Asst Prof.

Infrastructure: Well-equipped labs with LAN connectivity for each Ph.D. scholar in the respective scholar cabin. Have to procure the raw materials on our own as the contingency provided by the institute is too low. No HRA is given to the scholars although it is being provided by multiple NITs.

Faculty: Most of the subjects are so chosen in order to help the graduates get a basic idea about what they'll need in the course of their PhDs. Every research scholar has to pass 2 independent subjects apart from a compulsory Audit course of Research Methodology, in order to secure the minimum credits.

Other: Every thing about VNIT seems perfect but the only uglyness here is the management and their greed for money. Almost next to no monetary support if provided to the scholars even though the institute has a TEQIP chapter. Even the HRA is not given to the scholars and hostel facilities are too costly.
