Wilson College: A Balanced Blend of Academics and Campus Life.
Placements: Placement percentage for psychology graduates is around 50-70%, often driven by internships and external opportunities. The highest package is around 5-6 LPA, the lowest 2-3 LPA, and the average 3-4 LPA. Top recruiters include NGOs, hospitals, mental health centers, and corporate HR departments. Internships are common in mental health clinics, NGOs, and educational institutions. Common roles include HR Assistant, Counselor, Behavior Analyst, and Mental Health Associate.
Infrastructure: The Psychology department provides average labs for psychological testing and experiments, with no advanced audiovisual aids. Wi-Fi is not provided to students. Hostel facilities are decent, with clean rooms and basic amenities. The mess food is good, but it lacks basic items like chips and biscuits, and the canteen is small. Medical facilities include on-campus first aid. For sports, there is only one basketball court available.
Faculty: The teachers in the psychology department are kind and approachable, but the college sometimes hires contractual and inexperienced professors who lack proper teaching skills. The course is relevant and helps students become industry-ready, especially with topics like industrial psychology, which provide a broad perspective. The exams are not very difficult, with a passing mark of 40 out of 100.
Other: Attendance is considered very important. Students with attendance below 50 percent are debarred from exams. To ensure compliance students are told that 75 percent attendance is mandatory. There is no ragging in the college. Some professors are very experienced and possess excellent teaching skills. They are helpful and kind. Wilson College hosts numerous fests and events. There is no dress code, and students are free to wear whatever they want. The classrooms lack smart boards, and the washrooms are not well-maintained. The taps in the washrooms dont work properly.

Pros and Cons of Joining Wilson College.
Placements: There are no placement opportunities offered in my course. Students mostly have to find internships by themselves. The college does not have a placement cell for Psychology so there aren't any opportunities. Professors did share resources but they were very limited.
Infrastructure: I have not lived in the hostel so I cannot comment on that. My classroom didn't have many facilities. We did have a psychology lab which had the required equipments but it was average. Our libraries weren't convenient as there was no system to just pick out a book and read. But rather forms had to be filled and books would be given the next day.
Faculty: Some teachers are qualified and knowledge whereas the majority teachers are not good enough. Most just read through their notes and don't make the subject interesting. The course curriculum is relevant but it can be better. The course can have more practical experiments, group projects and better assignments for the overall development of a student. The semester exams aren't very difficult. Majority students clear exams.
Other: I love psychology and I want to pursue Psychology later on in my life and hence I chose this course. The course is interesting and I loved studying Social Psychology. It would be better if we had better assignments and experiments rather than very outdated ones. I didn't like the crowd. The people weren't very welcoming and there was favouritism and groupism quite a bit. I MET better people in my third year. There are many extra curricular activities for those interested .
