Q:   How can I apply for the MAH B.Design exam?
A:

You can apply online on the official website: cetcell.mahacet.org when registrations are open. The application fee is 

  • INR 1900 for General/Open category and All India candidates

  • INR 1400 for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD/Orphan/Transgender candidates from Maharashtra.

Q:   What is the eligibility criteria for NIFT 2026?
A:

Candidates applying for B. Des course need to have passed 10+2 exam from a recognised institute and should be less than 24 years as of August 1, 2026. Relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit applies for candidates belonging to SC, ST and PwD categories.

Q:   What is the minimum qualifying criteria for NID admissions?
A:

Minimum qualifying criteria for NID DAT are the minimum marks candidate needs to secure for admission. The category-wise cut-off would be released at the time of counseling and seat allotment. Eligibility Criteria for Admission to Fashion Designing Course

  • Diploma courses - For admission to undergraduate diploma courses, the candidate simply needs to have passed Class 10 exam. There is also no need to appear in any entrance exam, as admission is typically on the basis of Class 10 (qualifying exam) marks.
  • Undergraduate degree course - For admission to fashion designing courses offered by the top institutes, the candidate will have to appear in entrance exams like NID, NIFT, UCEED, SEED, Pearl Academy Entrance Exam, etc. The minimum academic requirement is a 10+2 pass. 
  • Postgraduate degree course - Candidates who have completed their graduation can take admission to PG courses in fashion designing. Popular entrance exams include NID, NIFT, and CEED.

The eligibility criteria for MAH B.Des CET is given below.

  • Must be an Indian national.

  • Passed 10+2 or equivalent exam with at least 45% (40% for reserved categories).

  • There is no age limit.

Q:   Which academic stream should I have studied in Class 12 to be eligible for UCEED 2026 exam?
A:

Candidates from any academic stream are eligible to apply for UCEED exam. However, for admission to IIT Guwahati it is mandatory for candidates to have passed Class 12 from Science stream. The candidate needs to carefully go through the eligibiity criteria before they apply. It is because the candidate will not be considered for admission to the B. Des programme even if they get a rank in UCEED 2026 if they don't meet the prescribed eligibility criteria. Also, any candidate who is found to be using incorrect information about their eliigibity stands to be disqualified if caught.

Q:   How many seats are available for general category in NID?
A:

The are currently 347 seats earmarked for the B. Des programme at the five participating institutes of NID 2025. Of these, around 170 seats are available for general category candidates. Note that candidates belonging to reserved categories will also be considered for admission under the general category. However, candidates from general categories can't apply for admission under reserved categories. The candidate has to select their admission category at the time of filling out the NID that application form. Also, the candidate has to produce supporting documents at the time of admission. If the candidate fails to produce their category Certificate then he or she will be considered for admission under the general category.
