NID Ahmedabad offers MDes in 7 specialisations to students which are Animation Film Design, Film & Video Communication, Graphic Design, Ceramic & Glass Design, Furniture & Interior Design, Product Design, and Textile Design. The duration of the course is for 2 years. Candidates need to clear the NID Entrance Exam. NID Ahmedabad eligibility and selection criteria for MDes course:

Selection criteria: DAT Prelims (30% weightage) + DAT Mains (70% weightage, including studio test-40% and interview-30%)

Eligibility: A pass in Bachelor's degree of a minimum of four-year duration in any stream or a full-time Diploma of four-year duration in Design, Fine Arts, Applied Arts and Architecture or three-year Bachelor's degree is required to apply for MDes course. Additionally, candidates must be born on or after July 1, 1992 (July 1, 1989 for SC/ ST).

MDes eligibility at NID Ahmedabad is Bachelor degree of 4-year or 3-year duration from a recognised University. General category students should be born on or after July 1, 1994 to apply for the course. 

MDes programme NID Ahmedabad has 19 specialisations in the 3 campuses. These are Animation, Graphic Design, Product Design, Furniture and Interior Design and so on. These are separated into four faculty members such as Industrial Design and IT Integrated Design. Learners will find it possible to select on the basis of their own interest, and portfolio.

NID Ahmedabad offers BDes, MDes, and PhD in the various fields of Design. And BDes is also offered with various specialisation such as the Faculty of Industrial Design, Faculty of Communication Design, Faculty of Textile, Apparel, Lifestyle & Accessory Design and Ceramic & Glass Design.The 2.5-year MDes degree is available in 19 disciplines with concentrations in the Faculties of Communication Design, Industrial Design, Interdisciplinary Design, Information Technology Integrated Design, And Textile, Apparel, Lifestyle, and Accessory Design.

NID Ahmedabad does not offer scholarships of its own. However, students of NID Ahmedabad can avail of various scholarships provided by the state and central government.
