Hi Aatish! The major difference is, a Textile Designer creates the pattern, designs for fabric and also develops fabric. The textile designers also do embellishment of fabrics. They have to select yarn, colour for the yarn, and dyes for making new fabrics. The Fashion designers, on the other hand, use the fabric developed by the textile designer to create new designs for clothes.

Their imagination sees a design, they sketch it with colors on the paper and then give shape to their imagination by selecting fabric for the making new designed clothes. The basic difference between a BDes in Fashion Design and a BDes in Textile Design is that Fashion Design focuses on every element of fashion, including accessories, fashion trends, style of draping, etc. It includes a few subjects related to textile science.
