ITM-IDM Entrance Exam 2025: Registration (OPEN), Syllabus, Admission Process

Candidates will have to visit the official website of ITM Institute for Design and Media to apply for the Entrance Exam. Students will have to register first, apply online and pay the application fee in order to complete the application process.

Note that applications submitted via offline mode will not be accepted. Also, ensure that you meet the prescribed eligibility criteria.

The ITM Institute for Design and Media offers a B.Des program. Admission to the programme is on the basis of ITM IDM Entrance Exam.

Eligible candidates needs to apply for admission basis they meet the prescribed eligibility criteria. Note that if the candidate doesn't meet the prescribed criteria or doesn't get a good score in the entrance exam, he or she may not get admission.

The ITM IDM Entrance Exam is conducted in both offline and offline mode. Candidates have to first appear for the writtten exam, which is followed by the personal interview and portfolio screening and/or a situation test.

The candidate can opt their preffered mode at the time of filling out the application form.

Also, note that the candidate has to appear in all the stages of the design entrance exam.

The candidate should have cleared class 12 in any discipline from a recognised board. The candidate needs to meet the prescribed eligibility criteria or else he or she will not be considered for admission.

The eligibility criteria will be program-specific. So, it is important that the candidate meets the specific criteria related to their applied program.

The candidate mustn’t apply if they don’t meet the ITM-IDM entrance exam eligibility criteria 2025.

It is because ITM-IDM entrance exam officials will verify the eligibility conditions before seat allotment. If any candidate is found lacking, he or she will be disqualified.

Further, if the candidate is found forging ITM-IDM entrance exam eligibility criteria 2025, they may not only be disqualified, but criminal charges may also be levied against such candidates.

After written exam candidates will have to appear for peronal interview and portfolio and personal interview rounds. Candidates will be shortlisted based on the scores secured in all three phases of exam.

It is mandatory for the candidate to appear in the portfolio and interview rounds. Note that if the candidate skips any of the admission rounds, he or she will be disqualified.

As per the official guidelines, electronic gadgets are not allowed inside the ITM IDM exam hall. If a candidate is found carrying such items, they may be disqualified. 

Candidates are urged to strictly follow the exam guidelines.

Also, on exam day, reach the exam center on time.

The admit card will include the date and timings of the ITM IDM entrance exam. It will also have the reporting time.

You need to reach the exam centre as per the reporting time.

Note that latecomers may not be allowed inside the exam hall.

So, carefully note the reporting time.

Some of the skills of candidates that are tested in DAT include:

• Observation skills
• Illustration skills
• Problem-solving skills
• Imaginative skills
• Space Visualization

To get a good score in the DAT, the candidate must work on each of these skills.

DAT entrance exam is considered to be moderate. IN NID DAT, more weightage is given to subjective, drawing related questions. Thus, candidates need to be extremely creative and have a clear understanding of their concepts when appearing for the DAT.

But note that difficulty level can also be subjective, as it may also depend on your level of preparation. For instance, if you prepare well, you may be able to solve even the so-called difficult questions easily.

In a Design Aptitude Test, candidates are asked drawing, sketching and general reasoning questions. The candidate needs to prepare for each question type to get a good score in DAT.

Some of the top design entrance exams that the candidate can take include NIFT, NID DAT, UCEED, and SEED.

The online application form for NIFT 2025 is closed.

With regular fees, the application was open from November 22-January 6, 2025. With late fees, applications were accepted from Janaury 7-9, 2025.

The application was available online at niftadmissions.in. The NTA also released the detailed admission notification, including the eligibility criteria and information brochure.

Candidates who met the precribed eligibility criteria for their programme could fill out the NIFT 2025 application form before the last date.

Note that NIFT application form will be for admission to the B. Des, M.Des B.FTech M.FTech and MFM courses offered by participating colleges.

The NIFT exam is among the competitive and is also considered among the toughest. So, it is recommended that the candidate starts their exam preparation early. NIFT exam has various components like written exam and Situation Test /Personal Interview. Candidates seeking admission to the B. Des and M.Des courses need to prepare for both the CAT and GAT. The CAT is a drawing-based exam. Now unless the candidate is already well-versed, the exam will be very difficult. So, start early. The same goes for the GAT.

The National Institute of Design (NID) is expected to conduct the DAT Prelims exam in the first week of January 2026.

The B.Des exam will be held around 10 am - 1 pm; meanwhile, the M.Des exam will be held around 10 am - 12.30 am. The candidate needs to report for the exam at 8 am. Gates' closing time is 9.30 am. 

The DAT Prelims for the B.Des programme will be conducted in a paper-and-pencil/pen mode. The question paper may include both textual and visual questions. Other details like duration of the exam, marking scheme, etc., will be published in the DAT Prelims admit card.

The DAT Prelims exam for the M.Des programme will be conducted offline and include a mix of objective and subjective questions. The paper will have a total of 100 questions.

To appear in the UCEED 2026 exam, the candidate needs to meet the following criteria:

• Age limit: The candidate must be born on or after October 1, 2001. In the case of candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwD categories, there is a relaxation of 5 years.

• Number of attempts - A candidate is allowed to appear in UCEED exam for a maximum of two times and that too in consecutive years.

• Academic requirements - The candidate must have passed 10+2 exam in 2025 or 2026. Those who appeared for the first time in their qualifying examination in 2024 or earlier are NOT eligible.

Candidates who qualify in the WWI 2025 written exam will next have to appear in a Personal Interview. The list of eligible candidates will be publised on the admission portal.

Note that is mandatory for the candidate to appear in all the stages of the WWI entrance exam. Or else the candidate will not be included in the merit list.

The ITM Institute of Design and Media will declare the results of ITM IDM 2025 on its admission portal.

2. In the result log-in window that opens, enter your log-in credentials

3. On log-in, you can download the scorecard.

Download and take a printout of the scorecard.

Exam officials of ITM IDM 2025 entrance exam will not release any draft answer key. So, candidates won't be able to compare their answers with the official version.

Note that as there is no answer keys, there will also be no answer key challenge.

The exam officice will declare ITM IDM 2025 exam results on its admission portal. You can check your results by logging into the result portal.

The ITM IDM 2025 exam officials will not release any draft answer key.

However, if it decides to release the answer key, the same will be updated here.

In case the draft key is released, it will contain details like the answer key code for each question.

The candidate will also be allowed to challenge the draft key in some cases.

The application fee for the ITM IDM exam is INR 1,500. The application form is currently open and may be filled by eligible candidates.

The application fee has to be paid at the time of filling out the application form. If the application form is not paid, the application will be deemed incomplete.

No, ITM Institute of Design and Media offers only undergtaduate course in Fashion Design, Interior Design, Visual Communication and VFX & Animation.

So, if you are a PG student, you need to chdc out other entrance exams.

However, if you are looking for admission to a UG program, you can fill out the ITM-IDM application form.

ITM IDM Entrance Exam has just one section containing 50 questions evaluating candidates based on their design aptitude.  The candidate must attempt all the sections to get a good score in the exam.
