Mystory@Avinash Reddy Munagala

During my Class 12, I appeared for IIT entrance exam but I failed. So, I took admission in a normal college in Andhra Pradesh. There I explored what I should do after graduation. It was then that I came to know that I am not good at Science subjects and so I could not crack the exam for IIT admissions. But the good thing was that I came to know that I am good at managing things and I will be able to perform better in an MBA course rather than in MTech. Hence, I started my preparation for CAT.

This is my second attempt in CAT exam and I have secured 88.85% marks. I scored 84.5% in my first attempt. I took coaching at TIME which helped me a lot. There I used to write the online weekly tests as well as sectional tests daily.

Do not neglect any section in CAT exam and give equal priority to all the sections

But the mistake I did was that I neglected the Verbal and Reading Comprehension (VRC) section where I got 68.5% this year. So, my advice is that do not neglect any section and give equal priority to all the sections. When I gave the exam in 2015, my score in VRC was 77 and I scored 78 and 89 in Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR) and Quantitative Aptitude (QA) respectively. However, in 2016 I scored 68, 93 and 93 in VRC, DILR and QA sections respectively. So, after going through my marks you must have observed that I have improved a lot in DILR and QA but not in VRC because I neglected that section and you should not do the same mistake.
