Students' Speak: Internship is an important aspect in student's journey
By: Akansha Maurya
Employers these days are mostly relying on the resume that you provide them to describe your work history. The first step to get a job is to actually get selected for the interview and in that, your resume is going to reflect you and your work.
If you are a student who is pursuing B. Tech then you must have come across the concept of internship and how important it is to do an internship. It is not only important but also mandatory for every student to do at least one internship before entering into the final year of course.
You can gain as much knowledge as you can but that knowledge does not always translate into your work. Internships give us exposure to the working environment and also add a hands-on experience of working which is very important for any professional course. Employers these days are mostly relying on the resume that you provide them to describe your work history. The first step to get a job is to actually get selected for the interview and in that, your resume is going to reflect you and your work. Adding some good and effective internship would definitely make you to interview round. It’s a big competition out there these days. Your fellow classmates are also going to be a competition for you in job field. Practical work background plays a significant role during job recruitments. So you have to make sure that your resume speaks for your talent and could differentiate you from the crowd. That one internship could be the difference between winning and losing a job. An internship provides you first-hand exposure of working in the real world.
The ultimate goal of every student after completing their studies is to get a job. There are two ways to accomplish that: one is to get placed in the campus placement and another one is to get a job through off-campus placements.
It is always good if you get a placement from the campus placement but if by any chance you cannot make through it then there are so many off-campus placements through which you can achieve your goal. For this you must have to be aware of placement activities that are happening around you. So, from the very starting set up a good relation with your seniors and teachers because during placements it is going to be helpful for you. They can provide you information about the ongoing activities and you will not miss out any opportunity. You can also take help from some sites that actually provide you information about the placements with all the required details.
Best of luck to all of you and I hope this information will help you guys.
