Recruiters in India do not give value to online BTech courses anymore as they are not recognised by the AICTE and UGC and are considered invalid at present. The problem with online BTech degree is that it restricts your practical learning experience and limits your networking opportunities, both of which are very important in today's world to get a decent job in the market.

All of the top recruiters want a skilled pool of people who have a good knowledge of the technical know-how and have the right set of skills to be able to contribute to the growth of their business model. All of this is not possible in the online mode and hence, the recruiters do not accept students with an online BTech degree.

The clear answer to this question is no. An online BTech degree is considered invalid in India after the strict guidelines of AICTE and UGC because they give a lot of value to practical training and classroom learning, which is not possible in the online mode of learning. If we talk about the core Engineering specializations like Civil Engineering, CSE, Mechanical Engg. and Electrical Engineering, all of these require hands-on practical training to be able to gain the right set of skills needed for the workforce in the job market.

So, it is better to go for a regular offline BTech degree if you want to have a successful career in the field of engineering and technology.

The BTech Mechanical Engineering syllabus is not the same across all colleges, as every college committee sets a particular coursework pattern at the start of every academic year to be followed for the respective batch. The syllabus includes some core subjects, interesting electives, and lab work that gives detailed knowledge to the students about the workings of the field. 

Candidates taking admission in a BTech course of IIT Mandi need to pay a tuition fee of INR 8.1 lakh. The total fee include other components as well, such as hostel fee of INR 2.46 lakh. Additionally, the one-time fee is INR 17,000 and other fees is INR 3,000. The total fee sums up to INR 10.74 lakh. The NIT Hamirpur BTech fees range between INR 5 Lacs- INR 6.25 lacs. The duration of the course is between 4 to 5 years. Moreover, candidates who want to take admission have to fulfil the eligibility criteria and also clear the entrance exam. So, the eligibility criteria for NIT Hamirpur BTech admissions is that candidate should have passed Class 12 with a minimum of 75% aggregate. The registrations for the JEE Main 2026 session 2 are now over.

JEE Main 2026 Session 2 exam takes place in the month of April every year. Whereas, the application form for Session 2 will be available on the JEE Mains website. The exam is conducted by NTA.
