Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) – Main is the national-level entrance examination conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). Every year, around 11 lakh candidates appear in the exam to secure a seat in any National Institute of Technology (NITs), Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIITs), and other colleges. JEE Main is also a preliminary entry to JEE Advanced for admission to IITs in India. Since 2021, JEE Main has been conducted four times.
JEE Main is conducted for two papers - Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 for BE/BTech courses and Paper 2 for BArch and BPlanning courses. The computer-based test lasts 3/3.5 hours for 300 (400 for BPlanning) marks.

The eligibility criteria for admission to the BTech course require fulfillment of certain eligibility criteria set by the authority. Below are the eligibility conditions for admission through JEE Main.
- Qualifying exam: Aspiring candidates should have passed class 12 or qualifying for the exam in 2019 or 2020 or appearing in 2021.
- Qualifying Year of 10+2 level exam: Candidates who passed QE in the year 2019, and 2020 or appearing in 2021 and will be appearing in 2021 are eligible for JEE Main 2021. Candidates who passed the Class 12th/Qualifying examination in 2016 or before as well as those who will appear in such examination in 2021 or later are not eligible to appear in JEE (Main) 2021.

- For BE/BTech: Physics, Mathematics, any one of (Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Technical Vocational Subject)
- For BArch: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry
