The total fee of BTech ranges between INR 6 Lacs and INR 10 Lacs as per an unofficial source. Candidates who have applied for BTech (lateral entry) need to pay a total fee ranging between INR 2.40 Lacs and INR 5.40 Lacs as per an unofficial source. The fee might includes components other than the tuition fee. Candidates are required to pay the course fee after completion of all the selection rounds to confirm their seats. The selection to BTech course will be based on BEEE score.  In case, a candidate is unable to pay the fee within the specified time, his or her admission will stand cancelled. Aspirants will also need to pay a registration fee to apply for admission. Candidates can pay the application fee via any of the online payment mode. 

The application fee for TNEA is INR 500 for the general candidates and INR 250 for SC /SCA /ST category belonging to Tamil Nadu.

The candidates who have passed Class 12 with a minimum of 45% aggregate are eligible to apply for the desired BE programme. At the time of form filling and admission, the mark sheet/pass certificate also has to be presented for verification purposes. These documents are required for verification purposes. Velammal Institute of Technology (VITech) accepts admission through the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) counseling process. The institute does not conduct its own entrance exam for B.Tech admissions. Admission is based on the TNEA Counseling and its cut-off. Yes, Candidates who wish to become a professor after BTech in Electrical Engineering will also be required to complete MTech and PhD in the required discipline.They must clear GATE in order to pursue M.Tech and later pursue PhD in the same discipline. They must demonstrate excellent research skills by grabbing fellowships and submitting research papers across SCOPUS indexed journals.
