Admission to VIT BTech course is based on VITEEE score, followed by a counselling round. The Amrita School of Engineering BTech programme is spread across a wide array of specialisations. The institute offers 14 BTech specialisations. Hindustan University offers a four-year BTech course. Apart from this students can also get direct admission to the second year of BTech through Lateral Entry. The university offers two additional subject options in collaboration with IBM. At Hindustan University, the curriculum of the course is designed in such as way that it helps students to get both theoretical and practical learning, which get possible with the help if Funded Research Projects and many industrial collaborations. The placement cell of the university is also very active. In 2024, NIRF has ranked the university #113 in the "engineering" category.

Admission to BTech course is based on JEE Main/ KEE score. KEE or Karunya Entrance Examination conducted every year for admission to UG courses of Engineering, Agriculture, Biosciences, Criminology, Management, Media, Design, Nursing, Health science, Data Science, Forensic Science, Commerce, Nanoscience, Optometry.
