Mystory@Milan Singh: How I selected my college and course
I completed my undergraduate and postgraduate studies after I got married. I chose the same college, Ramniranjan Jhunjhunwala College of Arts, Science and Commerce, which my husband was studying in. I submitted my application forms along with Class 12 marksheet. Soon after, the merit list was declared and I got selected. My subject in both under-graduation and post-graduation was English. I always liked the subject and was fond of reading and writing. I believed this was a good opportunity for me. However, if given a second chance, I would have pursued BTech and MBA. Of what I have experienced till date, I believe both the degrees help you excel in your career.
I had always been a very active student; doing well in my studies and participating in various cultural and co-curricular activities. This resulted in me receiving prizes, scholar badges, merit certificates, medals and winning many other awards.
In UG, I continued the same tradition. I believe that it’s not always about being a book worm. It’s important to learn and enjoy everything that you do. Today, I am proud that that I did all of them. I read library books and referred them, always tried to gather information about a single topic from as many possible references as I could get my hands on in the library and on the internet. I loved those days but do not miss them as I still do what I did that time.
