Utkal University is the oldest university in Orissa and the 17th the oldest university in India. Utkal University is government university in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. It is recognised by AIU and UGC. As per NIRF 2025, the ranking of the institute is #48 in the "State Public University" category. The median package offered during Utkal University UG 4-year, UG 5-year and PG 2-year in the past years of placements stood at INR 2.20 LPA, INR 3.5 LPA and INR 4.5 LPA, respectively.
