Internships at IIM Bodh Gaya

To be considered for internships at IIM Bodh Gaya, a student needs to be extremely active throughout his or her curriculum. 

Every student is required to participate in an internship at some point during their time at IIM Bodh Gaya since it is a required component of all the professional courses that the institute offers. IIM BG is a relatively new institute, it began offering its first course, an MBA, in the year 2015. In 2021 only, the college welcomed its first group of IPM scholars and PhD students. As a result, the focus has primarily been on MBA internships, but with time, IIM BG will move forward in that regard for other courses.

Duration of Internship 

The months of April and May are typically reserved for internships, though the dates can sometimes extend to the middle of June. In the MBA program's second year, term IV, the tri-semester curriculum requires students to take this course for full credit. To complete the Summer Internship Program (SIP), the duration must be between a minimum of six weeks and a maximum of two months.

Stipend During SIP

This year, we have seen a significant increase in the stipend that is offered by the company, with the most generous amount standing at approximately INR 2 lakhs. We have seen an increase of 73 per cent in the average consolidated stipend, which is now around INR 71,000. This is in comparison to the previous year.

This year, banking, financial services and insurance have been the most popular sector choices for summer internships among major companies. BFSI tops the list of sectors as approximately 45 per cent of the batch is placed in it. Information Technology and Analytics has placed approximately 15 per cent of our graduates and is our batch's runner-up industry for placement.

Process of Internship

To be considered for internships at IIM BG, a student needs to be extremely active throughout his or her curriculum. Furthermore, the student needs to take on live projects and compete in a variety of case study competitions to grab the best possible chance to be accepted by the placement committee and thus be eligible for the best opportunities that may become available in the future. This is the procedure for the placements on campus. Besides that, a significant number of the students choose to participate in off-campus placements.
