MAT 2018 September pattern

The All India Management Association has been maintaining their exam pattern for a long time and there have been no changes in the MAT exam pattern in the recent years. MAT 2018 September pattern too will be on the lines of exams held in February and May earlier this year. 

MAT 2018 September will be conducted in two modes: Paper-based test (PBT) and Computer-based test (CBT). Candidates must note that both the exams will be conducted on separate days. Candidates can choose to opt for either CBT or PBT or both. Know more about MAT 2018 September important dates

The PBT will be conducted on September 2, and CBT will be conducted on September 15, 2018. CBT will be conducted for 2.5 hours commencing from 10am. PBT will be conducted in single/different time slots at specific test venues. 

To be able to excel in MAT 2018 September exam, candidates need to have a sound knowledge of the following: 

  • Language comprehension: There will be comprehension passages which test-takers need to read and then answer the questions and fill in the blanks and form correct sentences from jumbled worlds.
  • Mathematical skills: The pattern will consist of questions from Maths that are commonly studied in the 12th grade like Profit and Loss, Unitary Method, Geometry, Triangles, Linear Programming, Co-ordinate geometry etc.
  • Data analysis and sufficiency: This section can be time exhausting. Candidates can expect questions related to table, graphs and chats and pie diagram etc.
  • Intelligence and Critical Reasoning: This section consists of questions related to reasoning, facts, conclusions or analogies etc.
  • Indian and Global Environment: This section contains questions about current affairs, economics and finance and other general knowledge questions. Test-takers are advised to keep themselves updated with the news on TV or with the newspapers. They should have an idea of the country and the government.

Candidates must note that no additional time will be allotted in case the student cannot finish the test before the exam time ended. Thus, keeping a track of time is essential during the exam.
