Mystory@Chandansingh K Charan

I have completed my 10th from Lala Lajapat Rai School, Kalol. After completion of High School, I was confused about which stream should I opt for. I took the advice of my family and friends, and most of them suggested me to opt for science stream as it would be beneficial for me. Furthermore, there were many who suggested me to go for commerce stream as the business sector is rapidly growing in Gujarat, and I could easily get a job in the same. After seeking the advice of my well-wishers, I approached my father and told him about my decision of choosing science. However, in case I opted for Science I would have to attend tuitions, and since our financial condition was not good, my father told me that it would be a little difficult to afford the studies. Adding on to this, he suggested me to opt for commerce as I had further plans of getting enrolled in MBA. After analysing all the situations, I finally opted for Commerce.

My class 12th results were declared on May 28, 2012, and two days later, on May 30, 2012 my father passed away. It was a very difficult time for me & my family, but my mother took all the responsibility and she asked me concentrate on my studies. I promised my mother to study hard and also took the responsibility of contributing whatever I could in the household expenses. To fulfill my promise, I started taking tuitions for students studying in standards 1st to 12th.

Once my BBA was done, my aim was to study MBA, but this time without borrowing money from any of the relatives.

Since my dream was to pursue MBA from the very beginning, I selected BBA in graduation. Since our financial condition was not very stable, my mother had to borrow money from her brother for my education. Once my BBA was done, my aim was to study MBA, but this time without borrowing money from any of the relatives. This time I took a loan from the bank to study MBA.

How I cracked college admission

I had scored more than 50% marks in graduation. I attempted CMAT in which I scored more than 60% marks. After an extensive research, I got enrolled in Oakbrook Business School as it is known to be a good institute and it is close to my home too.

What I gained from my college years

I have been taking tuition classes from the past 5 years, and now teaching has become a passion for me. My college time is 9.15 am to 4.30 pm, and I reach home between 5.30 to 6.00 pm. Once I’m back, I take tuitions for 3 hours. Since I like teaching, I don’t feel tired and it is easily manageable.

A standout amongst the most captivating things I found about my college is that how adequately it keeps up a harmony amongst scholastics and co-curricular exercises for the understudies. Consistently Oakbrook composes a few occasions for the understudies to give them chance to feature their abilities and administrative ability. Occasions, for example, Conclaves, Seminars, Industrial Visits, Cultural Fests, and so on are held for the same. College incorporates marks for such support in their inside assessment of their understudies and helps them in like manner.

I have participated in many events – worked as a volunteer in committees of Culture Event, Marketing Conclave, Entrepreneurship conclave, HR Conclave, Finance Conclave in our college. I actively participate in various co-curricular activates of college .i.e. Sports Activity. I also coordinated and participated in the Annual function programmes like group dance and drama. I believe this exposure will help me in my personal as well as my professional life.

The faculty of my college delivers good knowledge and conceptually, they are very clear. Also, their methodology of teaching is also very good. I adapted their skills in my tuitions classes as well, and have benefited immensely from the same.
