I have become a technophile and a more confident person, says Shratica Sameer
By: Shratica Sameer
I decided to pursue PGDM course and attempted several entrance exams like CMAT, TISS and CAT. I was quite focused and determined to get admission to a prestigious college by 2020. Luckily, I was shortlisted based on my CMAT score.
For my higher secondary education, I was keen to choose Commerce with Mathematics as my stream. I was always inclined towards Mathematics and Accounts. After my schooling, I went on to give a few competitive exams. I gave IPMAT exam to get admission to the Five-Year Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) at IIM Indore and got shortlisted in the first round. But unfortunately, I was unable to crack further stages of the admission process. So, I looked out for other colleges and found NPGC as the best option to do my graduation. After completing my graduation in BBA, I got the opportunity to work in a BPO but I decided to go for further studies.
I decided to pursue PGDM course and attempted several entrance exams like CMAT, TISSNET and CAT. I did a lot of research and after evaluating all the criteria including placements, ROI, faculty etc. Finally, I decided to pursue PGDM in Financial Services from Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow. Luckily, I was shortlisted based on my CMAT score. Despite the pandemic, the college managed everything quite well by couriering all the required books and students' kits to the students.
I completed my graduation in 2019. I was quite focused and determined to get admission to a prestigious college by 2020 because it becomes quite difficult to explain a year gap at the time of the final interview if you are a fresher. I targeted entrance exams like CAT, CMAT, TISSNET. I did my IPMAT crash course (IIM Indore Integrated Course) preparation from TIME Institute. To prepare for PGDM entrance exam, I decided to choose Fund Makers which is a well-known brand in Lucknow for coaching.
I did my early schooling at Seth MR Jaipuria School. So, I wanted to do my post-graduation from Lucknow only. I researched everything about the Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow from its fee, placement to the courses it offered. I was quite impressed and satisfied with its ROI. The experience and qualification of its faculty are quite impressive. Finally, through my CMAT score, I got admission to Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow.
I feel that the pandemic has impacted everyone's life. In my case, it has made me a Technophile. Earlier, I was not a tech enthusiast but now, I enjoy using it. Jaipuria had guided, helped and supported me in bringing the best out of me. Due to pandemic, we are not allowed to visit the campus and attend the classes physically. But the online mode of learning has been quite exciting and interesting. The online classes are being conducted smoothly due to the support of the technical team and faculty of the college. It is difficult to explain practical subjects online but this is what Jaipuria is good at sorting out the complexity in the process.
Currently, I am a junior member of the Admission Committee. Despite everything being online, the college has been successful in organizing various events both online as well as offline. If given a chance, I would like to volunteer with the SRC Committee of the college. The college has really helped me in developing my communication skills. It has made me more confident and tech-friendly.
