Taxila Business School improved my time management skills: Narayan Reddy
We had electives in Class 11 and at the time when everyone was inclined towards Science, I chose Commerce. My reason was simple. I believed my skills were better suited for Commerce field and I had deep interest in Sales and Marketing, thanks to my business background.
I am very happy that I chose Taxila Business School, Jaipur for my higher education. I really like the concept of how the college works i.e. 9 to 9 classes and the handpicked modules according to the need were the points that attracted me.
How I cracked college admission
To pursue management studies in appeared for MAT. To prepare for this entrance exam I joined a coaching institute for three months.
After MAT results were declared, I applied to various colleges and got offers from Taxila Business School, Jaipur, Institute of Public Enterprise, Hyderabad and MIT, Pune and Christ College, Pune.
I chose Taxila. Admission procedure at Taxila included three rounds - telephonic interview, skype interview and a case study. The procedure was challenging and required some preparation. Through these rounds, they checked my knowledge in current affairs, situations and opinions on some economic decisions.
How my college changed me
We have classes for almost 12 hours but they are not boring lectures. Each class involves explanation of concepts and their application in real life situations.
I enjoy attending Marketing related classes and Consumer Behaviour related lectures the most as they help me understand the mind-set of consumers as well as companies and how they go about it. Brand Management and MANCOMM sessions are also on my favourites’ list.
I am an active member of Taxila event management committee under which we organise several events. We have organised events like job fair, Taxila Talks and other cultural events. If given a chance, I would love to organise TedEx in my college as I see it as a great platform for learning and I always look for impressive content delivered on this platform.
Taxila has changed me a lot as an individual in the sense that for an ambivert like me this place has taught me to how I can efficiently and effectively use my skills and deliver on the expectation. Time management is another front on which I think I have improved. I was great in time management earlier too but at Taxila this skill has touched another level. Working for 12 hours then doing assignments and making time for self is a task that I have been doing for the last 15 months and now I can say I can easily work for 18 hours without breaking a sweat.
So overall it changed me as an individual. It’s a long road ahead and Taxila has helped me get the right set of tools for my uphill battle.

No, CMAT is not compulsory to get admissions into the PGDM course at Taxila Business School. As the institute accepts scores from other entrance examinations too for admissions to PGDM courses. Therefore, CMAT can be considered as one of the accepted entrance exams for admissions to the PGDM course.
