My college bridged the gap between Campus and Corporate: Shashank Bansod

I was an average student throughout but I got good grades in my 10th Board exams and followed the trend of opting Science in Class 11 and 12 but later realized it was not something that I wanted to do. While every other guy of my class opted for Engineering, I chose to do BBA in my graduation. There was a paradigm shift in my mindset as being a science nerd this professional course was a whole new world for me. Surprisingly, I was the college topper in my 1st term exam which gave a great kick start to my management career. During my final year, I already had an offer from L&T and few other companies but I chose to go for higher studies instead.

I was determined that I wanted to be an MBA graduate but getting admission in a good college was again a big challenge. I talked to many people and had a discussion with almost everyone and got to know that there is something which holds the same importance as an MBA and is even better in some ways. That’s how I got to know about PGDM. I was searching for a college that would provide me with a good exposure, a decent placement and also fit in my budget. My search ended when I got to know about Taxila Business School, Jaipur. I compared it with every other college and Taxila was tailor-made for me.

How I cracked college admission

I appeared for MAT Feb 2016 and scored 76%ile. I joined 4D Education Hub to prepare for competitive exams. After the results were announced, I visited Taxila’s website and filled the application form. I was selected and called for the next phase. I cleared the all the phases which included:

  1. Case Study round wherein the candidate would be provided a case study via email which he is supposed to solve and revert within the stipulated time.
  2.  Telephonic Interview round where the candidate’s general awareness and logical reasoning would be tested. For example, I was asked, “A man shaves whole day still he has beard”
  3. Skype Interview where you’ll be scheduled a video call with one of the faculty of the college and you would be tested on various grounds.

I cleared all these rounds to secure my place in Taxila. I was so certain about Taxila that I didn’t try for any other institute.

Taxila helped me in moulding my career in a better way.

How my college life changed me

One thing that attracted me the most about this college is the intensity of the curriculum which is to be felt to be believed. Our day starts at 9 o’clock in the morning and we have classes till midnight which helped me to work for long hours at a stretch. We also have late night MANCOMM sessions which helped me come out of my comfort zone and made me a better version of who I was. Every student here goes through this rigorous drill every day and by the end of the course, we are corporate ready.

Apart from the curriculum, the faculty members here are very supportive and have years of experience in their respective fields. The faculties here are mostly from corporate world who teach us through their real-life examples and provide key insights on topics. Their way of teaching has made every concept crystal clear in my mind. The pedagogy is purely application based which includes learning while solving case studies and creative exercises that help me to grasp the concept in a better way. The college also provided me with the opportunity to do live projects with brands like The Times of India, Airport Authority of India and various others.

Placements have been a major attraction in Taxila as the highest package of our senior batch was Rs 14.80 lakh. It’s just been one and half year in Taxila and one-third of my batch is already placed in TDI International (Alibaba). I and my two batch mates are placed in Asian Paints as Sales Officers. During the online test for Asian Paints, Taxila was the only college with 100% results. We have had sessions wherein we have come across all the key insights of the Indian Paint Industry which helped me flush the nervousness and made me confident that I can crack the interview easily. Recently, Taxila also partnered with SAP and with its Global Certification the minimum package is Rs 12 lakh pa.

I’m overwhelmed by the kind of learning that I got from Taxila. Taxila helped me in moulding my career in a better way. Taxila acted as a catalyst in polishing my skills and made me stand out from the rest. Taxila bridged the gap between Campus and Corporate. Most importantly, Taxila added value to my career and I’m sure it will add to yours too. At last, I just want to quote which I firmly believe is that, “Great things never came from comfort zones”.
