Joining a B-school is the best decision I ever made: Sugandha Bansal

Taxila Business School

Every individual has a story behind the decisions they make for the career they want to pursue. My journey and the decisions to fulfil my goal were not different from other aspirants. While I was pursuing Graduation in Computer Applications from Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Chandigarh, which was under Panjab University, I realized I should go for a Management course. So, I got myself enrolled in a coaching institute ‘for the preparation of the MBA entrance examinations. I was guided by a group of teachers about the value of Management Studies. Just like other students, I also wanted to crack IIM admissions, and the dreams of studying in a top B-schools started poking me.

The preparation time from June to October was one hell of a ride. No mornings, no nights, no holidays- it was all vague. I was lost in preparation with a quote on my wall, “I can do it.” Then, finally, the days of the exams began in November. The first exam was CAT, but I realized it wasn’t my best shot, and I knew I wouldn’t be able to crack IIMs. But staying motivated never leaves you on a lonely road. Opportunities were not over yet. The earth is not flat; there are always other ways around. I continued giving other exams, of which I cracked many. There were procedures like group discussions, case studies, article writing, personal interviews, etc.

Making the decision of the specialization was a tedious process. The most important thing is that you can never know beforehand which subject would interest you more. From my experience, I would suggest you take time in your first year of Management course, analyse your areas of interest and skills, and then make the decision.

I wanted to study in a college with healthy minds, great exposure, numerous opportunities and placements, so as to grow myself and experience different fields. I began surfing a lot to choose the best business school for myself. Among all the colleges that I was selected in, I analysed that Taxila Business School, Jaipur was the best. So, I took admission there. I wanted to get into the classes desperately. 22nd June was the first day of my college. The day was full of enthusiasm. Students with great minds from all over the country took admission. Different tasks were allotted. Management games and case studies were a part of our curriculum.

Joining a business school is actually the best decision I have ever made. I am growing faster, learning, and enjoying studying. When the day changes to night, it is all magical. There are a lot of opportunities to improve your skills and become a part of different activities; you just need to grab those. I can proudly say that I never miss them. Taxila has provided me with platforms, live projects, and other exposure to participate and think out of the box. My confidence level, managerial skills, and interpersonal skills have tremendously got boosted, and my attitude and personality have transformed into those of an extrovert.

It’s true that hard work always gifts you the most beautiful flower and the sweetest fruit. It’s just patience and positivity that you need to carry along with you.
