Mystory@Vidhi Sethi

I chose Science in class 11 and 12 as I felt it is not only the greatest opportunity to contribute towards a better tomorrow but also a chance to strengthen hope for mankind even through the smallest of acts.

At post-graduation level I decided to move in a different direction and chose to pursue Retail Management. Studying Retail Management at JIMS, Rohini has provided me a solid foundation for a career in the same field and I am glad that I chose this institute. This college has taught me to strive for progress not perfection.

I am looking for opportunities that will allow me to put my learning into practice and develop my skills even further.

How I cracked college admission

With the aim to crack MAT, I joined Career Launcher. Coaching classes help you to speed up your problem solving skills, and provide you with various tips and tricks. I attended all the classes with zeal and sincerity. At the coaching centre, we were given different kinds of tests - module wise and full length papers. These tests gave me an idea as to where I stand in terms of my strength, weakness and knowledge.

With MAT scores in my hand, I opted for admission to colleges like NDIM, Amity University, Ansal University, Asia Pacific Institute of Management etc. and enquired about each of them from respective seniors. The maxmimum positive responses I received were for JIMS. Hence I decided to join it.

All about my college life

“Time spend in college have magic left all over. Enough sparkles to spread across the sky.”

College is a terrifying and overwhelming experience. I don't think there are enough words to describe the amazing experience I am having in college. I learn new things every day.

At JIMS, I've learnt how to convert my weakness into my strength.

The overall curriculum focuses on developing strong managerial skills in the students.  Mock tests and GDs which help in preparing for Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning in an effective way. The faculty members are highly talented and they provide vast information about the subjects.

Other than academics, I like the cultural programmes like Roadies Series 3.0, Dandiya Night, College Fest, etc. that are organized in our colleges. I participated in a few and received prizes too. Many seminars and awareness programs also conducted in our college. I am also a member of the HR Club. In a Brand Positioning Competition I won the first prize.

I believe my whole perspective on life has changed after joining this college. College experience has made me more creative and taught me how to manage my personal and professional life. Here, I’ve recognized my strengths and weaknesses and learnt how to convert my weakness in to strength.

JIMS believes that we students are a rough canvas, it’s just up to us what we draw on it.
