Offline class is the best as it provides face to face interaction: Yash, IIEBM
These are first-hand student accounts on how our young population is managing to keep their exam prep or college course work going from the confines of their homes. In case you want to share your lockdown study experience, write to us at publish@shiksha.com.
In the current situation of COVID-19, everyone needs to stay home and safe. Keeping safety in mind, one more thing that we all should focus on is that the studies should not get affected. However, this situation has affected it adversely, so we must make the most out of this situation so that it does not affect our studies.
For this, the college is providing us with their best support and making the students capable so that they could stay positive and give their best in all the fields. The major step that the college has taken for the completion of the course is by providing video lectures to the students so that they can continue their studies wherever they are and keep their studies going on.
The college is providing students with videos which have been recorded by their faculty and shared with the students through online support using the common drive. A student can access the same through their email id and can download the video as well. This is quite different from the offline mode of learning which is provided to the students when they are present in the college campus but right now attending the classes in the campus is not possible so the course is being completed through online classes.
The offline class is the best as it provides face to face interaction between the faculty and the student. Also, the student can ask their doubts which can be a big issue to search in the material which is provided online.
The advantage of an online class is that the students can refer to the online video provided at any time according to their flexibility and can repeat the same as many times as they want which cannot be done in the offline class.
The college is also providing many online course opportunities to the students so that they can refer to the provided links and enrol any course in their free time, learn about their field of interest and get a certification of completion which would help in enhancing the resume. There are many online websites, which are providing free certification courses, or a minimal fee. The students should make the most of this time by learning new skills
All the colleges are ensuring that the students are effectively using this period by providing them with the required study material such as presentation and recorded videos which helps them to complete the syllabus.
Now the students are spending all of the free time by getting involved in home activities like cooking, singing, etc.. Also, due to this lockdown, the bonding among the family members is improving as everyone is getting time to interact with each other about the present situation and future goals which is a good way to learn from the family.

Here is the honest take: MERI is pretty old-school when it comes to showing up. They stick to a 75% attendance rule, and they aren’t just bluffing—it’s actually tied to your internal marks and, more importantly, your eligibility to sit for placements. Think of it less like a flexible college degree
