Many post-graduation students must be already going through or preparing for the upcoming placement season. Here are certain things that they could keep in mind to become placement-ready are:

Resume: The first and foremost step that employers view is your resume. Make sure to build your resume strong and inviting so that it depicts all of your qualities which will be helpful for you and the interviewer to analyse your skills.

Personality: Your personality plays an important role in the placements you apply for. Be confident enough to face and accept the challenges. Be flexible, don’t be static and restricted to only a certain location or timing of the shift.

Preparation: Prepare according to the phases of the campus recruitment informed to you by the college/company. The first stage that most of the companies affix to is the aptitude test. For this stage, one should prepare themselves by practicing Mathematics, revise basic English Grammar and polish aptitude and logical reasoning skills.

The second stage is to clear the Group Discussion (GD), the topics can be related to anything in general. For instance, current affairs, abstract or can be related to the stream/branch/field you have opted for or you belong to.

Third and the final stage is to clear Personal Interview (PI) in which the interviewer will judge and examine you on the basis of your analytical and practical skills. Here, not only your knowledge but your personality will play an important role.

Prepare well for the questions like: “Tell me about yourself?”, “Why should we hire you?”, “Why XYZ company?” and “What are the challenges you are looking for?”.

The basic challenges you face while preparing and appearing for the interview and placements will be to answer the question about yourself, have good knowledge about your stream so that if the core companies question you about it then you are able to answer.

Additionally, gain all the knowledge and experiences from the winter and summer internship you appear before the placements. The internships will give the right exposure and experience which will help you to grow your practical skills and will be an addition to your resume.
