During the placement processes of any company, the GD and PI rounds play a very important role. Many candidates get eliminated in the GD (Group discussion) itself due to lack of good content while discussing.

After the commencement of our MMS or PGDM courses, there is a significant period of about three months for a student to make a proper resume before the placement process for the winter internships commences. Hence, it becomes imperative for one to make the most of this phase by getting himself placed in a reputed company as soon as possible.

The syllabus, though updated regularly, may or may not cover all the current trends in the corporate world. So I would advise the candidates to pursue some credible certification courses as well as take up live projects and/or a part-time internship which would be in sync with his/her respective specialization. These activities will surely add a lot of weightage to the resumes. Participating in the various corporate competitions would also help one in applying the relevant academic learnings in the real-life business scenarios.

For the pre-placement phase, I would advise the students to get in touch immediately with their seniors (could be both the same and/or across multiple batches as required) since they can provide a good clarity about which sector and company one choose ideally opt for. The students also do take the help of their college faculties (both on-campus as well as visiting) to enhance their CVs which would look more professional. During the placement processes of any company, the GD and PI rounds play a very important role. Many candidates get eliminated in the GD (Group discussion) itself due to lack of good content while discussing. So, it becomes important to prepare well for the GDs by practicing them at least a couple of times with fellow classmates and professors assisting them by moderating the mock discussion and giving valuable feedback.

In SIES College of Management Studies, there is an active and helpful placement cell that makes sure all the interested students get placed in various good organizations across sectors as soon as possible. It provides several facilities such as providing a pre-specified format for making the CV, conducting regular pre-placement talks with the companies, notifying students in advance about the upcoming opportunities, among others.

It also ensures to invite only those companies which have some amount of credibility in the job market. In case if a student is not initially shortlisted by a company, the placement cell pushes his/her CV forward to see to it that the particular student deserves a shot for at least getting interviewed.
