Welingkar Institute of Management, Mumbai has its own Career Management Cell (CMC) which, along with the student body representative from every class, conducts the placement processes every year. They assist the students with the process, which includes CV building, communicating information, arranging for in-campus and out-campus activities, allocating dates and other placement related activities.

Companies start visiting Welingkar September onwards. Usually, the CMC announces the date when the company will be coming to the campus in advance. Those interested have to apply for the company before the deadline and appear for the process on the given date. I will enlist some helpful preparation tips and tricks which helped me get placed in reputed companies.

  1. Prepare a good CV

You must try and add as many skills as possible to it during your first year. This will not only enhance your knowledge but also help in understanding where your interests lie.

There are a number of articles on how to make a good CV. I would encourage students to read them. Using power words and quantifying your results and making it look clean are the most important guidelines to follow. If you’re unsure of what goes in the CV, better take help from your seniors and professors. After making your CV, get it reviewed by at least 3 reliable people so as to look professional. It takes time and you cannot expect your CV to build quickly. It may require continuous editing and rewriting. You may even want to change your CV based on the company you are applying for, depending on the requirements.

  1. Know everything in your CV

You have added multiple skills/certifications in your CV; sure you have done them in the past. Check a few things before putting anything in the CV like whether the certificate is relevant or not. Check if it’s still valid (since some certification courses may require you to give a test to keep the certificate valid in that year).Know that a lot of questions that you will be asked in the interview will be from your CV. So you must know everything mentioned in it.

  1. Revise your concepts

The heading is self-explanatory. Learn all the basics from the first year and your certification courses. Make a diary where you can note down at least the important definitions and carry it during the interviews.

  1. Prepare for GDs and interviews

Welingkar conducts mock GDs and PI rounds for all its students which proved to be of immense help. Keep up to date on the current affairs. For your interview preparation, make a question bank and answer the questions accordingly. So you have model answers for some basics for sure questions such as “Tell me about yourself”, “Description of your work experience”, “Hobbies”, etc.

  1. Company and its job description

Read about the company. Try to find out as much information about the company, their objectives, the field they are in, their product offerings, past projects, etc. You must properly know the role you’re applying for. This step may not need a lot of effort as the pre-placement talks generally cover it all.

Welingkar Mumbai Matunga has been ranked by many organisations, like NIRF, Outlook, etc. Welingkar Mumbai Matunga has been ranked 75 by the NIRF 2025 in the Management category. The ranking of the college has improved compared to the previous years.

The Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research has two campuses. The main campus is located in Mumbai and other is in Bangalore. Welingkar Mumbai is a known institution that gives MBA/PGDM courses.

Welingkar Mumbai has good faculty. The faculty members are helpful and supportive to the students. The college also organizes guest lectures, international guest sessions, and visiting faculty from India and abroad both.

Yes, the cutoff for Welingkar Mumbai has increased. In 2025, the last round cutoff for MBA admission at Welingkar Mumbai was 99.9. For the same course, the last round cutoff was 99.96 in 2024, while in 2023, the cutoff was concluded at 99.93.

Yes, Welingkar Mumbai has good placements. The students have got a decent package in the recent placements. Companies like Adani Group, Amazon, Morgan Stanley, ICICI Bank, Mahindra Group etc. hire students from the college.

Yes, students can apply online to get into Welingkar Mumbai. Open the college page and click on the 'Admissions' tab and register an account. Fill the application form with details and documents and pay the fees to apply at the Welingkar Mumbai college.
