Student Engagement Activities
Students at the Thiagarajar School of Management are not only encouraged to compete in opportunities it provides and social contests, but they are also encouraged to organise numerous managerial, cultural, and sports programs. Hosting and participating in events enable students to develop abilities of persuasion, interaction, and making more connections with other students. There are three main events that encourage students to participate, learn and enjoy. The events are YUKTI, Sports UTSAV and Cultural programs.
YUKTI: TSM's annual business school conference, YUKTI, which refers to the strategy, is one of the largest corporate conferences in South India, with over 800 participations from several top Indian B-schools. The goal of YUKTI is to build great relationships among students from diverse universities and to provide opportunities to talented managers to demonstrate their expertise. Students are given the opportunity to share the floor with prominent industry executives. The latest edition of YUKTI was conducted in the academic year of 2021-2022. It included 11 management events and 9 cultural activities that were uniquely themed and planned to promote the concept of sustainable development in a company or a community.
Sports UTSAV: Students are inspired to upskill themselves both academically and physically. Students compete with zeal and dedication in a number of sports like cricket & basketball. TSM's annual sports festival, Sports Utsav, is held in late February or early March. HIGH 5 (Basketball), INFERNO 2.0 (Cricket), TACKLE (Football), and TANDEM (Volleyball) are the sports events contested under the banner of TSM. Sports Utsav is regarded as a corporate and an inter-B-school event. Teams from TCS (Chennai), HCL (Madurai), HCL (Trivandrum), RR Donnelley (Trivandrum), and B-Schools such as IIM Tiruchirappalli, XIME Chennai and PSG have previously participated in events.
Cultural Programs at TSM: The institution offers a variety of opportunities for students to participate in events, display their capabilities and refine their organisational skills. Students arrange activities such as Levitate, an intra-college cultural fest, Sangamam event and Sayonara event. The goal of such activities and events is not only to enhance the personal abilities of students but to also develop creativity and innovation.
