Top courses in IIM Bodh Gaya

Till 2021, IIM Bodh Gaya offered a PGP (Postgraduate Program in Management), which was later changed to an MBA to meet international standards.

The IIM Bodh Gaya’s MBA program is one of the university's most prestigious courses. Every year, lakhs of students apply for the CAT entrance exam, but only a few get into the IIMs.

MBA programs are designed to teach management and business skills. Management lessons are very useful for management in any organisation, whether private, public, or public sector undertakings (PSU). Prior to 2021, the institute offered a PGP (Postgraduate Program in Management), which was later changed to an MBA to meet international standards. The PGP is a two-year residential program. IIM Bodh Gaya offers a general management degree, which means that during the first year, students can explore all aspects of management before deciding on a career path.

The number of seats available for this program is limited and may change throughout the academic year. The class of 2021 has approximately 210 students enrolled, which is a yearly trend.

To be eligible for the domestic student quota, a candidate must have a bachelor's degree in any field and must have passed the CAT exam with an overall percentile cut-off and sectional cut-offs. After qualifying, the candidate goes through a Personal Interview (PI) round. Due to the pandemic, the GD round has been removed from the selection criteria, giving PI more weightage. Other factors are considered while determining the final merit list, such as:

• Class 12 score

International students need to take the GMAT instead of the CAT for admission to the institute. To be eligible for admission into the program, the applicant must have completed the GMAT within four years. The rest of the process is the same.

Fee Structure

Students from within the country pay tuition fee set by the college, which changes annually. The tuition fee for the class of 2021 was around INR 12.95 L plus a caution deposit, with a 10% tuition fee increase subject to management approval. The tuition fee for international students is USD 35,000 plus a caution deposit and is subject to annual inflation and exchange rate changes.

Placements/Professional Growth

India has created a brand known for its management excellence, IIM. As a result, Indian students have numerous job options. For example, the Placement Committee of Bodh Gaya's LinkedIn page shows that the average package is around INR 12.31 LPA, with the highest being around INR 30 LPA. Students can also participate in industrial projects and internships.

Integrated Management Program (IPM)

IPM is the flagship course offered by IIM BG under which the institute offers BBA+MBA, with a total course duration of five years. For IPM, the candidate must have completed class 12 in any subject and earned a grade point average of 60 per cent in the previous three years. The total number of students, who can be accommodated is 50, with government-approved reservations being accepted. Initially, the classes are for BBA students, but after that, students enrolled in this course study alongside MBA students. The NTA's JIPMAT test score is taken into consideration for admission and is used in the finalisation of the merit list.

PhD Program in Management

The PhD Program in Management at IIM BG is a full-time residential program. As of now, this program is only open to citizens of the Indian subcontinent. To be considered for a PhD program, a candidate must have completed a master's degree or its equivalent in any field and earned an average grade point of at least 60 per cent.
