Q: What is the admission and selection process for admission to MBA programme at Amity University, Gurugram?

A: To secure admission in MBA programme at Amity University, Gurugram, the applicant must fulfil the eligibility criteria which means the applicant must have a minimum aggregate of 50 per cent in graduation in any stream from a recognised university. Also, the applicant must have a valid score of any nationally accepted management qualifying exam or Amity test.

The score of the qualifying exam will also make the applicant eligible for scholarships.

As a part of the admission process, all eligible candidates need to fill up the online application form on the official website by paying a nominal fee of Rs 1,100.

The applications are screened and all eligible candidates are then called for the personal interview round. Considering the current pandemic situation, the interviews are being conducted online.

The final selection is made basis the merit performance, the score of the qualifying exam and the performance of the student in the personal interview round.

Q: What are the various specialisation options available to students?

A: We believe in keeping our students at par with the current industry standards. And to achieve success in it, we offer specialisation options to students in all core areas of management. This includes:

  • Retail Management

Q: What according to you is the most important parameter to choose specialisation? How do you make sure that students choose the right specialisation?

A: The most important parameter before choosing any specialisation is your students’ own interest area. At Amity University we offer opportunities to learn through business games, seminars, conferences and case studies which help students decide which specialisation they want to pursue.

Q: Can you briefly talk about your curriculum structure?

A: The two year MBA programme at Amity University is divided into four semesters. The first two semesters, students are taught subjects of all core areas such as Sales & Marketing, Human Resource, Finance, International Business, E-Commerce, Retail Management and IT.

At the end of the first year or second semester, students undergo a summer internship programme with leading corporates in the industry. The internship experience gives them a corporate exposure and also facilitates them a hands-on working experience on the live project.

In the third semester, students are given the option to choose their specialisation. From here they choose electives and decide them to study for the next one year.

Q: What is the fee for the two-year MBA programme? What is the eligibility criteria for scholarships?

A: The fee for a two-year MBA programme at Amity University, Gurugram is Rs 8.64 lakh which can be easily paid in four equal instalments of Rs 2.16 lakh each.

The scholarships are offered to students basis their score in CAT, MAT or GAT exam. The scholarship categories are mentioned below:

  • To be eligible for 100 per cent scholarship, the student must have a minimum of 90 percentile in CAT or MAT exam or a GMAT score of 650 or above
  • To be eligible for 50 per cent scholarship, the student must have a minimum of 85 percentile in CAT or MAT exam or a GMAT score of 600 or above
  • And, for 25 per cent scholarship, the student must have a minimum of 80 percentile in CAT or MAT exam or a GMAT score of 500 or above

Q: Can you share some recent placement trends?

A: At Amity University, we have a dedicate placement cell that works round the year to strengthen corporate relationships. Also, we keep regularly organising mock group discussion rounds and personal interview rounds to boost confidence in students.

We provide 100 per cent placement assistance to students. In the last placement season, we have witnessed the active participation of companies such as Amazon, Deloitte, PwC India, KPMG, Nestle, Hindustan Times, Axis Bank, Yes Bank, ICICI Securities, Aditya Birla Finance & CBRE (F500).

The highest package offered to students was of Rs 12 lakh per annum whereas the average package stood at Rs 5 lakh per annum.

Q: Amity University has an incubator centre. What does the centre do?

A: We do have incubator centre by the name of Amity Innovation Incubator or E-Cell. It is a part of AIC which is powered by a richly experienced team of domain and industry mentors to ensure that the right guidance is available to budding entrepreneurs. The incubator works with the vision to enhance the economic growth of the Nation by supporting and nurturing the most critical elements of the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Amity Capital Ventures is a proprietary fund to financially support start-ups and entrepreneurs via seed and growth investments.

Yes, BSc students are required to undergo an internship in their Amity University Gurugram curriculum.
