Mystory@Siddharth Chavan: How I selected my course and made my career
Until I completed my 12th, mixed suggestions poured in from everywhere but after school, I was concrete with my decision of choosing science stream. I decided to visit Mumbai University with a few school mates, to find suitable courses and other study options to pursue graduation. After huge discussion we landed up on the course named Paint Technology. All of us filled the admission forms and appeared for the interview which was arranged in the university campus itself. We all managed to clear the interview round and were standing in a que near the reception in order to pay the admission fee. One of us suddenly cracked a joke that every one of us will be hanging up on the building and painting the walls using this technology. This was when we realized that this is not the right choice and left the university. Finally we decided to pursue graduation from Kirti College and passed with flying colors.
My College Experiences
While pursuing graduation from Kirti College Mumbai, we learned a lot but licving away from home made me feel home sick and had to visit a doctor. While sitting in the que waiting for my turn, I was noticing the MR (Medical Representative) who was at the clinics and promotion their products, but along with promotion they also sometimes guided and gave useful knowledge, tools, medicines as samples to Doctors which helped them to treat their patients. The way that representative was convincing the doctor, appalled me. At that moment I decided to become an MR and in the year 2004, I started my career as a marketing representative. 2017 was a kick start for my career, where I started working as Business Development Manager in one of the esteemed organizations.
My Job Experiences
Being an MR, I got the opportunity to fly to Africa where I worked and gained experience for almost 5 years and learned to speak French, followed by other Latin American countries, where I worked for 3 years and also learned to speak Spanish. Finally, worked for several years in South East Asian countries and now based in India as a Business Development Manager (International Marketing) for the African region.
I am happy in what I am today and I enjoy my profession to the core because it's me who decided my education & career. I met a lot of good people in my journey and also made some good friends who always stood beside me in difficult times and supported me in every possible manner. Moreover, my entry in international market is because of one of my close friend, who just called up me one day and straight away asked me "Do u have home sickness" I replied no, then he immediately asked me to attend an interview, where he was my colleague in my first ever company to work with. Both of us started our carrier as MRs.
While in college holidays, I went to join a marketing company named ORG.MARG where I worked for almost a month and received Rs.300 in return of my work. This was my first ever salary. Then began the whole journey from Rs.300 to a pay of 6 digits and still counting. Concluding the story, I would like to say that no matter what level of education you will take in future, but always respect your parents, your identify and love your true friends. Try to be in touch with them irrespective of time and age and love your country, no matter wherever you go in career and last but not the least, don't love your companies but do love your work. This will indeed give you more happiness.

No, you will not be eligible for the MBA course at VELS Institute if you haven't appeared for any entrance exam. You have to first achieve at least 50% in graduation and then appear in any one of the accepted exams, namely, MAT, CAT, TANCET, and XAT.
