In a recent press release issued by CBSE, it has been notified that the Class 12th answer book will be evaluated digitally. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has introduced On-Screen Marking (OSM) from the academic year 2026. The conducting body is organizing a webinar in this directing highlighting the changes being introduced and suggesting a way forward for the teachers.
About CBSE Class 12 Digital Evaluation Webinar
The webinar is being conducted to ensure readiness in the process before it begins. Teachers are expected to update their OASIS data. The evaluators will be provided with credentials at their registered email address. The answer book will be available on the Digital Evaluation Platform by the schools.
Evaluator Authentication
This is a crucial step as it will be done through the OASIS ID School Code and Date of Birth for accessing the OSM Portal for the practice session. After the authentication is done, teachers will be expected to obey the instructions given on the portal. Evaluators are advised to do the practice several times to get themselves acquainted with the system and avoid issues from the onset of the evaluation day, which is the beginning of the Class 12 answer book checking.
When will the process begin?
The digital evaluation practice begins on February 16, 2026. Teachers are allowed to join the sessions an unlimited number of times to get accustomed to the new rules of checking. As per the directives of CBSE, participation in this preparatory exercise is mandatory for error-free implementation of digital evaluation.
Dedicated Dashboard for Record Keeping
To ensure that the teachers are getting trained with the digital evaluation, a dashboard has been prepared by CBSE, and its access will be granted to the principals. It will carry details about the total number of teachers of Classes XI and XII on the OASIS portal. It will keep a count of the teachers who have completed their OSM practice and will inform the status of the teachers who are yet to practice the newly introduced system of evaluation.
