CBSE has announced revised SOPs for Class 10 and 12 practical exams 2026. Schools must follow guidelines, upload correct marks on time, and complete exams within fixed dates. No changes or extensions will be allowed after submission. Check complete details here.

CBSE announces updated SOPs for Class 10 and 12 practical exams, including strict timelines, mark uploading rules, and no extensions for scheduled dates.

CBSE has released new rules and instructions for Practical Exams, Projects, and Internal Assessments for Class 10 (X) and Class 12 (XII). These exams happen every year, and this time CBSE has made some changes to make everything clear and correct.

Why Tre These CBSE Guidelines & SOPs Important?

Every year, schools conduct practical exams and upload marks. CBSE noticed that some schools make mistakes in correct and timely assessment of Practical, Project and Internal Assessment components and later ask CBSE to change marks after its results announcement. CBSE has stated that this time no changes will be allowed after marks are uploaded. So, schools must follow the rules carefully.

What Schools Must Do? They should follow SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) strictly. Complete the exams on time. This year, CBSE will hold 4 exams, so time is very short. Schools need to make sure that they upload correct marks on the CBSE web portal. School heads must check the maximum marks for each subject before uploading. Details are given in CBSE Circular dated 17 November 2025.

Once marks are uploaded, they cannot be changed later. If a student is playing in a National or International Sports Event, and the exam date clashes, the school can reschedule the practical. But no extra time will be given beyond the official schedule.

General Instructions

  • Practical exams must follow the syllabus and guidelines given on CBSE’s official academic website: cbseacademic.nic.in
  • Schools should check the maximum marks for each subject from the official curriculum and latest CBSE circular.
