CBSE Class 12 Exam Analysis 2026: Central Board of Secondary Education has successfully concluded Class 12 Chemistry theory exam today, February 28, 2026, at 1:30 PM. Lakhs of students appeared for this crucial science paper, playing a significant role in the overall percentage in board results. As per students’ feedback, the CBSE class 12 chemistry paper 2026 difficulty level was balanced, but it tested their concept clarity. Some students reported that they faced difficulty in time management between physical, organic and inorganic chemistry.

CBSE Class 12 Chemistry Exam 2026 Difficulty Level

As per the initial students’ feedback, the overall difficulty level of the Chemistry paper was easy. The section A and B had direct NCERT-based questions. Meanwhile, application-based numericals were a little tricky. The newly introduced competency-based questions tested the conceptual understanding and required multi-step calculations.

Students' Reactions on CBSE Class 12 Chemistry Paper 2026

The students’ feedback on CBSE 12th chemistry paper 2026 was mixed. The following is the review of some students who appeared in today's exam: 

  • Riya Sharma, from Mayur Vihar, New Delhi, said, “The paper was easy overall. Physical Chemistry had a few tricky numerical questions, but the Inorganic and Organic sections were quite manageable. The paper was NCERT-based.”
  • Aditya Singhal, from an exam centre in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, said, “I found Section C slightly lengthy. The case-study questions were moderate. Time management was very important in today’s exam.”
  • Mehak Arora, a class 12 Science student, said, “Organic Chemistry carried good questions. The paper was easy to moderate for me. Students who studied from the NCERT books will get good marks in the exam.”
  • Kushagra Tripathi & Kartik Srivastava from Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, Ghaziabad, "The paper was of moderate level. We found the paper time-taking especially in solving numericals in section C."

CBSE class 12 Chemistry Review: Paper Easier Than Physics?

Several students shared positive feedback about today’s exam. The CBSE class 12 chemistry exam review by students highlighted that the chemistry exam was way easier than the physics exam this year. Students also shared that they were stressed about today’s exam, but were eventually satisfied with the questions asked in the paper. 

CBSE Class 12 Paper Analysis 2026 Chemistry: Experts' Feedback

  • Shalini Gupta, Subject matter expert of Lancers Army Schools Said “The Chemistry Board exam held today for class XII was overall moderate to easy. Most questions were directly based on the prescribed syllabus. The paper covered key topics like organic chemistry, electrochemistry, and chemical kinetics.” She further said, “The numerical problems were manageable, with clear guidelines and familiar patterns. Theoretical questions required some analytical thinking. The questions on chemical bonding, coordination compounds, and p-block elements were straightforward”.
  • Sarita Khokhar, Academic Coordinator at Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, Ghaziabad, said the chemistry paper was moderate. Most of the questions were directly based on NCERT. Time management was reasonable. 
  • Jyoti Samant, Educator from Shiv Nadar School, Gurgaon, said, “The Grade 12 Chemistry examination was well balanced. Most questions are drawn directly from the NCERT syllabus. Many found the paper easy overall. The paper also assessed application skills, particularly through numerical and conversion-based questions”
