GATE 2026 Registration Link on August 25; Check Documents to keep ready before applying

The GATE 2026 registration link will be activated on August 25. Interested candidates should keep all required documents to apply for GATE 2026 in advance to ensure a smooth application process.
GATE 2026 Registration Link: The Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati will be releasing the GATE 2026 registration form online on August 25. Earlier, the official GOAPs portal (GATE Online Application Processing System): gate2026.iitg.ac.in was launched, where candidates can fill out their GATE registration form. As per the dates announced, the last date to register for GATE 2026 without a late fee is September 25, 2025. Those filling and submitting GATE 2026 applications between September 26 and October 6 will have to pay the specified late fee.
Documents Required for GATE 2026 Registration
Before starting the GATE 2026 application process, candidates should keep the following documents ready in the prescribed format:
- Valid Photo ID Proof (Scanned Copy): Ensure that the personal details are accurate and updated. Candidates can provide any one of the following:
- Aadhaar Card (preferred)
- Passport
- PAN Card
- Voter ID
- Driving License
- Photograph (High-Quality Scanned Image): Strictly follow the specifications mentioned in the official guidelines.
- Signature (High-Quality Scanned Image): Ensure it meets all prescribed specifications.
- Category Certificate (SC/ST): Scanned copy in PDF format, if applicable. (Note: OBC-NCL and EWS candidates are not required to upload a category certificate.)
- PwD Certificate: Scanned copy in PDF format, if applicable.
How to Apply Online for GATE 2026?
Candidates meeting the eligibility requirements can go through the steps given below to know how to apply for GATE 2026 through GOAPS portal:
- Go to the official website: gate2026.iitg.ac.in
- On the homepage, select the “New Candidate Registration” link
- On the new page, enter name, registered mobile number, email address, etc. and submit
- Once the GATE registration is complete, enrollment ID and password will be sent to the email ID
- Log in using enrollment ID and password, and fill out the GATE application form
- Upload the documents and pay the application fees
- Submit the form and save it too for future reference
