IIT Guwahati Confirms Rescheduling GATE 2026 to Avoid UPSC ESE Exam Date Clash: Registrations with Regular Fees Revised

The Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, has assured aspirants to reschedule the GATE 2026 exam to avoid UPSC ESE exam date clash. The GATE 2026 application form last date with regular fees have been revised to October 6. Read below to know more.
The GATE 2026 exam registrations are ongoing. The last date to apply has been extended to October 6 (with regular fees). However, the last date to apply with late fees remains the same (October 9). Based on the scheduled GATE 2026 exam dates, which is February 7, 8, 14, and 15, students have raised concerns regarding the clash with the UPSC ESE exam date on February 8.
Considering the overlapping in the GATE 2026 and ESE exam date clash, the GATE conducting authority, IIT Guwahati, confirms rescheduling GATE 2026 exam for students benefits and hardwork. Any changes in the GATE exam date 2026 will be updated on the website.
IIT Guwahati have confirmed that GATE core papers- Civil Engineering (CE), Electronics and Communication Engineering (EC), Electrical Engineering (EE), Geology and Geophysics (GG), Instrumentation Engineering (IN), Mechanical Engineering (ME), Production and Industrial (PI), and Geomatics Engineering (GE) will not be scheduled on this date (February 8).
