JEE Main 2023 April 8 Live Updates: JEE Main 2023 April 8 shift 2 exam is over. JEE Main April 8 question paper shift 1 and 2 is available here. For the academic year 2023-24, admissions under MEA (Welfare) quota seats shall be based on the Joint Entrance Examination (Main).

JEE Main 2023 Result: Important Points
- The All India Rank shall be compiled and declared after conduct of Session 2 of JEE (Main) - 2023 Examination.
- No Score/Rank Card will be dispatched to the candidates and the candidates are advised to download their Score/Rank Cards from the JEE (Main) website: www.nta.ac.in/, https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/ only.
- There shall be no provision for re-valuation/re-checking of the Score. No correspondence in this regard shall be entertained.
- Only the All India Rank (AIR) is used for admissions through Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) /Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) to NITs/ IIITs/ CFTIs/ SFIs/ Others
- All participating Institutions that do not use the Centralized Seat Allocation Process will prepare their own ranking based on the performance in JEE (Main) - 2023 and other criteria as decided by them.
- The National Testing Agency (NTA) is an examination conducting body and not an admission giving authority. Therefore, NTA does not collect the information regarding the total number of seats available in the institutions, or the eligibility and reservation criteria followed by the institutions.

The NTA will display the Provisional Answer Key of the questions on the NTA website: https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/, with a Public Notice, issued to this effect on the said website, to provide an opportunity to the candidates to challenge the Provisional Answer Keys with a nonrefundable online payment of ₹ 200/- per question challenged as processing charges. National Testing Agency has concluded the JEE Mains 2023 exam for April 8. As per the student's reaction, Physics section was easy while Chemistry section was moderate in difficulty level. The Mathematics section was difficult. Overall the paper was moderate in both the shifts.

JEE Main 2023 Reservation of seats
- General category candidates belonging to Economically Weaker Section (GEN- EWS) have 10 per cent of seats in every course.
- Other Backward Classes candidates belonging to the Non-Creamy Layer (OBC- NCL) have 27 per cent of seats in every course.
- OBC candidates present in the State list but not covered in the central list of OBCs and OBC candidates belonging to creamy layer are NOT eligible to claim the reservation.
- Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates have 15 per cent of seats in every course.
- Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates have 7.5 percent of seats in every course.

JEE Main 2023 April: General Guidelines followed at the exam centre
- Students were not allowed to carry anything inside examination hall except a transparent ballpoint Pen, Admit Card & Aadhar Card. All guidelines as released by NTA earlier were followed for safety of the exam takers.
- Every student was made to go through a sanitizing station where they had to sanitize themselves through a foot press lever.
- Personal masks were not allowed. Every student was given a fresh surgical mask at entry.
- Metal detectors were used at the entry gate and no bags or wrist watches were allowed inside.
- Students reported that entry started as soon as they were screened at the entry point.
- Time Clock on computer screen was provided inside the examination hall.
- Immediate reaction from students after the exam
- There were total 90* questions and Total marks of JEE Main Paper-1 was 300. (* 5 out of 10 questions were to be attempted from Numerical Based section in each subject).
- Students were given plain papers for rough work.
- There was tight invigilation as per students.
- Proper social distancing was followed at the exam centre.

The minimum marks required to qualify JEE Main 2023 will be released by the NTA along with the result. The minimum marks required will JEE Main 2023 cutoff in the form of percentile scores. JEE Main cutoff will be different for all categories (Unrserved, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, EWS and PwD).

JEE Main 10 April 2023 Admit Card: What If Mistakes Are Found In NTA Hall Ticket?
In case of any discrepancy in the particulars of the candidate or his/her photograph and signature shown in the e-Admit Card and Confirmation Page, the candidate may immediately approach the NTA Help Line from 10.00 A.M. to 5.00 P.M. In such a case, the candidate would appear in the examination with the already downloaded Admit Card. However, NTA will take necessary action to make corrections in the record later, JEE Main 2023 information brochure said.

JEE Main 2023 marking scheme for numerical value type questions
There will be negative markings for numerical value type questions. However, if any anomaly or discrepancy is found after the process of challenges of the key verification, it shall be addressed in the following manner:
i. Correct Answer: Four marks ( 4)
ii. Incorrect Answer: Minus one mark (-1)
iii. Unanswered/Marked for Review: No mark (0).
iv. If a question is found to be incorrect or the Question is dropped then Four marks ( 4) will be awarded to all those who have attempted the question. The reason could be due to human error or technical error.

JEE Main 2023 April 8: General Guidelines followed at the exam centre
- The reporting time for students was 1:20 pm however the exam started sharp at 3:00 pm.
- Students were not allowed to carry anything inside examination hall except a transparent ballpoint Pen, Admit Card & Aadhar Card. All guidelines as released by NTA earlier were followed for safety of the exam takers.
- Every student was made to go through a sanitizing station where they had to sanitize themselves through a foot press lever.
- Personal masks were not allowed. Every student was given a fresh surgical mask at entry.
- Metal detectors were used at the entry gate and no bags or wrist watches were allowed inside.
- Students reported that entry started as soon as they were screened at the entry point.
- Time Clock on computer screen was provided inside the examination hall.
- Immediate reaction from students after the exam
- There were total 90* questions and Total marks of JEE Main Paper-1 was 300. (* 5 out of 10 questions were to be attempted from Numerical Based section in each subject).
- Students were given plain papers for rough work.
- There was tight invigilation as per students.
- Proper social distancing was followed at the exam centre.

JEE Main 8 April 2023 Shift 2 section wise difficulty level by FIITJEE
- Mathematics – Moderately Tough Level. Mixed Concept questions were asked. Questions asked from Straight Lines, Parabola, Circles, Limits, Continuity & Differentiability, Differential Equations, Area, Matrices, Binomial Theorem, Probability, Statistics, Determinants, Vectors, 3D Geometry, Mathematical Reasoning, Complex Numbers, Progression Series. Both MCQs and Numerical Based questions required lengthy calculations. This section was Lengthy and Tricky as per few students.some students also reported this as Tough.
- Physics – Easy level. Weightage given to chapters of Kinematics, Circular Motion, Rotational Motion, Laws of Motion, Rotational Motion, SHM, Gravitation, Heat & Thermodynamics, Wave Optics, Current Electricity, Electrostatics, AC Circuits, Modern Physics, Error Analysis, Semi-Conductors and Optics. Numerical based questions were reported as Easy. It was a Balanced Section.
- Chemistry- Moderate Level. Physical Chemistry was given less weightage as compared to Organic & Inorganic Chemistry. Questions asked from p-block elements, Qualitative Analysis, Titrations, Biomolecules, General Organic Chemistry, Aldehydes & Ketones, Amines, Chemical Equilibrium, Atomic Structure, Solutions, Chemical Kinetics. MCQs were tricky compared to Numerical Section. More weightage was given to class XI chapters.
In terms of order of Difficulty – Maths was Moderately Tough , Chemistry was Moderate Level, while Physics was Easy. Overall, this paper was Moderate to Tough level as per students.
