NTA conducted JEE Main 2023 April 8 in two sessions. The first session was conducted from 9 AM to 12 Noon and the afternoon session was held from 3 PM to 6 PM. Using the JEE Main 2023 question paper and answer key solutions of April 8, the candidates will be able to prepare for their upcoming examination. Calculation of scores before the announcement of JEE Main 2023 results can also be done using the answer key solutions. Since the official JEE Main 2023 answer key will be released later, candidates can use the memory-based answer key to practice for the examination.

Q:   How many questions are asked in JEE Main exam?
A:

Paper 1 has 75 questions where Physics Chemistry and Mathematics, each section has 25 questions. Out of 25 questions, 20 are MCQs and five are numerical value questions. You must answer all 5 numerical value-type questions. All 20 multiple-choice questions are compulsory. Complete all 75 questions in 3 hours.

Q:   Do I need to attempt all the questions in JEE Main exam?
A:

NO, it is compulsory to attempt all questions in the JEE Main exam. The JEE Main exam has negative marking and candidates must answer only those questions for which they know the correct answer. Students must note that there are no minimum marks in JEE Main that students need to score. Students gets All India Rank based on the marks they secure in exam and gets admission based on that rank.

Q:   What type of questions are asked in JEE Main?
A:

There are two question types in JEE Main exam. Multiple choice questions and numerical ability questions. In MCQ, every question has 4 options with only 1 correct answer. Select the correct option. In numerical ability question type, no options are there. Solve them and write answer using keyword and mouse.

JEE Main 2023 April 8 was held in two sessions as a computer-based test. The morning session was conducted from 9 AM to 12 Noon and the afternoon session was held from 3 PM to 6 PM.

A:

It is advised that students should solve at least previous 10 year question papers of JEE Main. However, the exam pattern as well as difficulty level of JEE Mains has underwent a lot of changes during the last 10 years but still solving previous year JEE Main question papers from last 10 years will definitely help in scoring the good marks in the exam. As new type of questions (Questions with Numerical Value Answer) were intrduced recently, students are advised to practice solving these type of questions to help solve it during the actual exam.

Chapterwise weightage of class 11 and 12 topics in JEE Main are mentioned below:

  • Physics: Current Electricity Waves AC, Magnetism, Laws of Motion Work, Power and Energy.
  • Chemistry the high weightage topics are s and p block elements, Coordination compounds, Thermodynamics Gaseous state, Chemical bonding, Atomic structure, Polymers, Environmental Chemistry Organic Chemistry.
  • Mathematics, the high weightage topics are Sequence and Series Vectors and 3D, Integral and Differential Calculus, Definite and Indefinite Integral.

How to Calculate Scores Using JEE Main 2023 Answer Key

Candidates can follow the given steps to calculate their probable obtained scores using the JEE Main answer key 2023.

  • Firstly, the answer key PDF has to be downloaded.
  • Candidates will have to compare their responses to the correct answers.
  • The official marking scheme as per the JEE Main 2023 exam pattern has to be followed.
  • The calculated score will be the total obtained marks in the exam. However, the score is indicative in nature. In the official JEE Main result, NTA will convert the raw score to percentile scores for the All India Rank, cutoff and final marks.

JEE Main 2023 Result

The official JEE Main 2023 result date is yet to be announced. Candidates will be able to log in and check their obtained scores through the JEE Main result 2023. The All India Rank (AIR) will be available after the conclusion of the April session since the aggregate of the two sessions will be taken out. Qualified candidates will be eligible for counselling through JoSAA 2023. Admissions will be done based on rank, preferences, category and seat availability.
