
JEE Main: The National Testing Agency is conducting JEE Main 2026 session 2 exam on April 2, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. Day 1 of the JEE Mains session 2 exam is over. Candidates can check exam analysis and memory-based April 2 shift 1 and 2 question paper with solutions on this page.
NTA has released the JEE Main admit card 2026 for all dates of April session exam. Candidates can download their admit card using the link provided on this page to appear for the exam. After the session 2 JEE Main exam 2026 concludes on April 8, NTA will release the answer key and response sheet tentatively by April 10, 2026. The result will be announced on or before April 20.
The top 2.5 lakh candidates from JEE Mains will qualify for the JEE Advanced exam, which is the gateway to premier engineering institutions - Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). The JEE Main exam consists of three papers - BE/BTech (paper 1), BArch (paper 2a) and BPlan (paper 2b). The questions in the exam are framed from the class 11 and 12 level syllabus prescribed by NTA. NTA JEE Main Admit Card 2026 Session 2
Candidates can download their JEE Main 2026 admit card for session 2 from the official website - jeemain.nta.nic.in. The JEE Main 2026 admit card is a very important document, as it serves as the identity of the candidates at the exam hall. Without the JEE Main admit card 2026, candidates will not get entry at the exam hall.
Important details like the allotted JEE Main 2026 exam centre, date and time will be mentioned on the admit card. Important exam day instructions will also be available on the admit card that candidates have to follow on the day.
The NTA JEE Main admit card must be kept safe even after the exam is over. The admit card is required during the counselling process.
On the day of the exam, candidates have to carry the JEE Main 2026 admit card as a printed copy. The candidate must show the printed admit card downloaded from the NTA website whenever asked at the exam centre.

| What if there is an error in the JEE Main admit card? In case of any discrepancy in the particulars of the candidate or their photograph and signature shown in the admit card, the candidate may immediately approach the NTA Help Line from 10:00 A.M. to 05:00 P.M. JEE Main 2026 Session 2 Exam Day Instructions
What to carry: Candidates MUST carry the following documents on the day of exam at the test centre. In the absence of these documents, candidates will not be allowed to appear for the JEE Main 2026 exam:
- Printed copy of JEE Main 2026 admit card along with the Self Declaration (a clear printout on A4 size paper) duly filled in.
- One passport size photograph (same as uploaded on the Online Application Form) for pasting on the specific space in the attendance sheet.
- Any one of the following authorised photo IDs (must be original, valid, and non-expired):
- Valid School Identity Card
- PAN cardÂ
- Voter ID
- Passport
- Aadhaar Card (with photograph)
- e-Aadhaar with photograph
- Class 12 Board Admit Card with photograph
- Bank Passbook with Photograph
- PwD/PwBD certificate, if needed
- A simple transparent ballpoint pen
What not to carry: Do not carry any stationery items, communication devices, Mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, smartwatches, calculators, electronic devices, accessories, bits of written/ printed papers or any items restricted in the exam hall.

NTA releases the JEE Main 2026 provisional answer keys under the respective login of the candidates. Candidates can download JEE Main 2026 answer key using the instructions given below:

- Click on answer key link.
- Login using your JEE Main 2026 application number and password/date of birth.
- The answer key will be displayed on the screen along with the response sheet.
- Download the answer key and take its printout.

- Login with your Application Number and Date of Birth/Password, enter the Security PIN as displayed, and submit.

- You will see the Question IDs in the below sequential order for JEE Main 2026.
- The ID next to the question under the column âCorrect Optionâ stands for the most appropriate Answer Key by NTA.
- If you wish to challenge this option, you may use any one or more of the Option IDs given in the next four columns by clicking the check box.
- You may upload supporting documents, for which you can select âChoose File and Upload (all documents to be put in a single PDF file).
- After clicking your desired option, for Mathematics / Physics / Chemistry for Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech.), Mathematics / Aptitude Test for Paper 2A (B.Arch.), and Mathematics / Aptitude Test / Planning for Paper 2B (B.Planning), scroll down and âSave your claimâ and move on to the next screen.
- You will see a display of all the Option IDs you have challenged.
- Click on âSave your claim and Pay Fee finallyâ.
- Select the Mode of Payment and pay a non-refundable processing fee of INR 200/- for each question.
JEE Main 2026 Final Answer Key
The final JEE Mains answer key, released after reviewing the objections submitted by the candidates, will be used to calculate the result/score of the candidates. The final answer key is not subject to the candidates' challenge/submission of grievances. Note that the answers given on the final answer keys will be used for preparing the results of JEE Main 2026.

JEE Main 2026 Expected Cutoff
NTA releases the JEE Mains cutoff along with the session 2 result in April. JEE Main cutoff is the minimum percentile score that candidates have to score to qualify for appearing in JEE Advanced.
JEE Main cutoff is different for various categories. Candidates must note that there are NO minimum marks or cutoffs that students need to obtain to pass JEE Main exam. The score that candidates get in JEE Main decides All India Rank, and admission to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs is purely based on All India Rank. JEE Main cutoff is only for appearing in JEE Advanced.

NTA declares the JEE Mains result online on the official website. The JEE Main 2026 scorecard consists of details of candidate's normalised percentile score in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, and the aggregate percentile score of all three subjects. Candidates can download their scorecard from the JEE Main website.
JEE Main cutoff percentile and toppers list have also been announced along with the result. Candidates who secure marks above JEE Main 2026 cutoff will be eligible to appear in JEE Advanced 2026.Â

After the NTA JEE Main 2026 session 2 result is released, which will have the All India Rank of the candidates and the final percentile score based on comparison of both (January and April) sessions, candidates have two pathways to take:
- Those candidates who will qualify for JEE Advanced 2026 have to register for JEE Advanced 2026 at jeeadv.ac.in.
- Those candidates who do not qualify for JEE Advanced can apply for JoSAA counselling that will be held in June for admission to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs.

JEE Main 2026 Exam: Key Highlights
JEE Mains exam is held to shortlist candidates for admission to UG engineering, architecture and planning courses at NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. It is also the qualifying exam for JEE Advanced for admission to 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). Candidates need to pass the minimum marks required in JEE Mains to qualify for JEE Advanced.
The exam is one of the most competitive and important engineering entrance exams in India, taken by over by 10 to 12 lakh students annually. NTA conducts JEE Mains exam twice a year, in January and April, in computer-based test mode.

About NTA - JEE Main Conducting Body
The Ministry of Education, India, has established the National Testing Agency (NTA) to conduct national-level exams like JEE Main. Apart from JEE Main, NTA also conducts exams like NEET, CMAT, NCHM JEE, UGC NET, etc. The current NTA chairman is Prof. (Retd.) Pradeep Kumar Joshi. He is also a former chairman of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
Key details on NTA:
- National Testing Agency (NTA) was approved by the Union Cabinet in November 2017.
- Before NTA, the JEE Main exam was conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
- NTA introduced the computer-based test mode and two attempts in the JEE Main exam structure.
- The National Test Agency also introduced percentile and normalisation methods to prepare results.
How Many Candidates Register and Appear in JEE Mains?
More than 10 lakh candidates fill the JEE Main application form every year. NTA releases JEE Main registration data every year along with the results. When two candidates score same marks in JEE Main, the NTA resolves tie by giving weightage to candidates haveing the highest marks in Maths>Physics>Chemistry. In case ties still persist, the weightage will be given to candidates with less incorrect questions in subjects in the same order.
Objections raising fee in JEE Main answer key is INR 200 per question. You can pay it online using internet banking or credit/debit card. The exact fees to be paid depends on total questions selected for grievance.
As per the JEE Main information brochure, both UDID card and PwD/PwBD certificates will be accepted. Candidates who do not have UDID card can upload their PwD/PwBD certificate at the time of filling application form. They can get the UDID certificate before the counselling admission process.
- Candidates should have JEE Main and/or JEE Advanced rank.
- Candidates must have at least 75% aggregate marks in Class 12. The aggregate marks for SC, ST and PwD candidates must be at least 65%.
- Candidates must be within the category wise top 20 percentile of successful candidates in their respective Class 12 board.
JEE Main counselling and seat allotment has many processes. Once seat is allotted to a candidate, you have option of Accept and Freeze, Accept and Float and Slide. If you are satisfied with allotted seat and select first option, you cannot participate in next round counselling. If you are not satisfied, select second or third option to participate in next round with the current seat.
The JoSAA 2026 choice filling window will open with the registration window in June 2026. Candidates will be able to register and then fill the choices of courses and colleges based on their JEE Main/Advanced ranks and category.

The dates for JoSAA counselling 2026 choice filling will be announced once the result of JEE Main 2026 is declared. Candidates can fill choices only during the choice filling period. Also, candidates need to lock their choices before the last date.
JEE Main 2026 shift 1 exam reporting time is 7 am. The exam centre gates will close at 8:30 am. No candidate will be allowed after this deadline.

No, candidates are not required to send the prinout of JEE Main application form 2026 to the NTA office. Candidates have to fill and submit the application form online only. However, it is advised that candidates download, take a printout of their filled application form and keept it safe until the completion of admission process. JEE Main 2026 application form copy might be required at the time of counselling/admission process in the institute.
Yes, Candidates who wish to appear in both the sessions of JEE Main 2026 need to fill application form separately for all sessions. However, the JEE Main registration need to be done only once. Candidates who apply for the first session of JEE Mains 2026 can use their session 1 application number and password to login and apply for the second session. During the second session of application filling, candidates only need to enter details of paper for which appearing, exam centre preference and pay the application fees. Other details related to education, address, parents details documents uploaded are taken from the first session application process.
Candidates also have the option of filling the combined application form for both session 1 and 2 during session 2 application process.
National Testing Agency generally conducts the JEE Main exam two times in a year. The first attempt is conducted in January and the second attempt in April.
