JEE Main 2024 January 30 shift 1 exam will start at 9 a.m. sharp. Read all the instructions carefully. Take a deep breath and start the exam. Reporting time is 7:20 a.m.

JEE Main marks vs. percentile vary every year. The JEE Main 2024 percentile will be around 90–95 if a candidate scores 120 marks.

As per students' reactions,

• The overall paper was moderate to easy.
• Maths was lengthy, tricky and also difficult in shift 1.
• Physics was easy and formula-based.
• Chemistry was NCERT based and easy. Students say it was CBSE Board exam level. 
• Most of the questions in Chemistry came from organic chemistry. Physical chemistry was not lengthy. Questions came from metallurgy, ores, d block, bromination, biomolecule.
• In Maths, many questions were asked from vector, 3D, integration, differential, limits, sequence and series, matrice, functions.
• In Physics questions came from all topics equally. Semiconductors, Modern Physics, Atomic structure, galvanometer, thermodynamics, photoelectric effect were asked. Most questions were from 12th syllabus than the 11th syllabus.

The JEE Main 2024 Result session 1 will be released on February 12. NTA will activate the JEE Mains result 2024 link on the official website jeemain.nta.ac.in.

• Overall Shift 2 paper was easy to moderate.
• Maths was a bit tough and lengthy as Shift 1.
• Physics was easy and formula-based.
• Chemistry was easy and formula-based.
• No questions came from the deleted syllabus
• In Maths, the topics asked were: Vectors, 3D, straight lines, coordinate geometry, Quadratic , Straight Line , Statistics, Probability, Matrices, Calculus, Differential Equation.
• In Chemistry, the topics asked were: Organic Chemistry, Electrochemistry, Inorganic chemistry. Physical chemistry was less.
• In Physics, the topics asked were: Modern physics, wave optics, diffraction, rotation, Heat, Kinematics, SHM, Logic Gate, etc

As per experts, there will not be much change in the January 30 Shift 1 JEE Main 2024 exam. The difficulty level also does not vary much. Stay tuned for more live updates!

As per student's reaction, questions from Chemistry were asked from Metallurgy, deteled syllabus question came from ores in shift 1. Some of the students attempted but some were not able to. In Physics, 2 questions from Galvanometer. Some students attempted 15 to 16 questions from 25. Physics and Chemistry paper was easy. Maths in total questions attempted 9 to 12 by average students. It was a bit tough and lengthy.

The JEE Main 2024 examination was observed to be less difficult than it had been in the past years. Due to this, there is a growing expectation among both the student community and experts that the cutoff score for JEE Main for a candidate to be eligible for the JEE Advanced 2024 exam might increase this year.

Candidates need to carry the below-mentioned items to the JEE Main 2024 Jan 30 exam centre: 

• JEE Main Admit Card
• Ball Point Pen
• Photograph
• Transparent Water Bottle
• Masks & Gloves
• Any one of the authorized photo IDs (must be original, valid and non-expired) – PAN card, Driving license, Voter ID, Passport, Aadhaar Card (with the photograph), Aadhaar enrolment number

The JEE Main answer key has details about the correct answers to the questions asked in the exam. It will have question IDs of all the questions that were asked in the exam along with the correct answers. The answer in JEE Main answer key will also be in the form of answer IDs.

• Candidates need to carry a JEE Main 2024 admit card for session 1 Jan 30 exam.
• Also, remember to bring one passport-size photograph matching the one uploaded with the Online Application Form that is to be pasted on the Attendance Sheet at the Centre.
• Valid Photo ID proof in Original
• Allowed items are a transparent water bottle and a simple transparent ballpoint pen.

Candidates will be able to download the JEE Main Jan 29 question paper from the official website of the NTA and also from the Shikhsa page. The official question paper will be made available a few days after the conclusion of the exam.

JEE Main 2024 Jan 29 Shift 1 and 2 comparison:

• Overall Shift 2 paper was easy to moderate where as Shift 1 was moderate to easy as per students' reactions. 
• In Shift 2, no question was asked from the deleted syllabus, but in Shift 1 there was question from the deleted syllabus.
• In both the shifts, Maths was lengthy and a bit tough.
• In both the shifts Chemistry and Physics were easy and formula based.

To calculate the score, candidates need to use the answer key and their response sheet. Candidates will check their response sheet and answer key for the correct and incorrect answer. After that, four marks will be awarded to all the correct answers, and one mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer. Add all the marks for the correct answer and reduce the marks for the incorrect answer to get the score.

Questions covered almost all chapters of Class XI & XII CBSE Board. Balanced Paper. Some students felt the morning session Paper of 29th Jan was tougher.

Mathematics – Moderate. Weightage was given to chapters of Algebra and Calculus. Questions from Straight Lines, Circle in Coordinate Geomtery.  In Calculus, questions asked from Functions, Differential Equations, Application of Derivative, Definite Integral. In Algebra, questions asked from Complex Number, Progressions-2 ques, Permutation & Combination, Binomial Theorem, Statistics, Matrices & Determinants, Probability & Vector-2 ques, 3D Geometry. Few MCQs & numerical based questions had lengthy calculations and were Tricky.

Physics – Easy . Questions asked from almost all chapters. Some good questions from chapters of Kinematics, Laws of Motion, Work Power & Energy, Heat & Thermodynamics, Sound & waves, Rotational Motion, Optics, Current Electricity, Modern Physics, Atoms & Nuclei. Numerical based questions were Easy. Physics was balanced and Easy.

Chemistry - Easy to Moderate. Inorganic & Organic Chemistry had more questions as compared to Physical Chemistry. Questions asked from GOC, Alcohols, Ether & Phenols, Amines, Aldehydes & Ketones, Biomolecules, Aryl & Alkyl Halides mixed concept questions, Physical Chemistry had questions from Mole Concept, Electrochemistry & Chemical Equilibrium.  Inorganic Chemistry had questions from d-block elements, Coordination Compounds & Chemical Bonding. Some NCERT fact-based questions asked which made it Easy for students.

 In terms of order of Difficulty – Overall, this paper was of Easy to Moderate level as per students in all three subjects. Few Students felt it was like 27th Jan Morning Shift Paper.

• Mathematics - The section was moderate to difficult based on the students’ feedback. Questions from Calculus were dominant followed by Vectors & 3D, Matrices and Determinants. Questions were also asked from Probability and Binomial Theorem in the paper. Almost all the topics were covered. The quality of the questions was good, and the section was a bit lengthy. In comparison to the 11th and 12th class portions, most of the questions were asked from the 12th syllabus only.
• Physics - According to the feedback received from a good number of students, the Physics part was of a moderate to difficult level. Questions from Thermodynamics, Semiconductors, Current Electricity, Modern Physics and Magnetism were duly represented in the paper. Most of the questions were asked from the 12th class syllabus. Solving a good number of mock tests would prove to be an effective strategy. In comparison to last year's Physics papers, Physics questions were of a good standard in this shift.
• Chemistry - Most of the questions were theoretical with the maximum number of questions asked from Organic and Inorganic Chemistry. Questions from prominent chapters like Hydrocarbons, Structure of Atom, Equilibrium, and Biomolecules were asked. Overall coverage of the chapters was uniform. Almost all the questions are more or less related to or asked from NCERT only.
