NTA is expected to release the JEE Main answer key for Session 1 soon. Candidates will be able to access the JEE Main 2024 answer key online at jeemain.nta.ac.in 2024. To download the official JEE Main answer key, the candidates will have to log in using their application number and date of birth.

Coaching experts are expected to soon release the JEE Main 2024 1 February Shift 2 answer key based on memory-based questions. Through the unofficial JEE Main answer key, the candidates will be able to check the correct responses and calculate their probable secured scores.

Students can use the unofficial and official JEE Main answer key to calculate their probable secured scores in the entrance exam before the results are declared. To make the calculation, the candidates will have to compare their responses to the correct answers and follow the official marking scheme as per the JEE Main exam pattern. The total calculated will be the probable marks secured in JEE Main 2024 Session 1. However, the marks will be indicative and may differ from the JEE Main 2024 result.

Overall, JEE Main 2024 Session 1 was moderately difficult. Candidates who were well-prepared and had practiced using mock tests were able to easily attempt the JEE Main 2024 Session 1 paper. Mathematics had a few tricky questions but Physics and Chemistry were easy and consisted mostly of NCERT-based questions.

NTA will start the JEE Main 2024 registration process for Session 2 tomorrow i.e., February 2, 2024. The final date to submit the JEE Main 2024 Session 2 application form is March 2, 2024.

The JEE Main percentile score is based on the relative performance of all the aspirants appearing in the exam. The score will be obtained after transforming the scores into a scale ranging from 100 to 0 for each session of examinees.

Before JEE Main 2024 Session 2 registration, the candidates are advised to check the official eligibility criteria. Some of the important criteria are:

• There is no age limit. However, the candidates should have passed the 12th standard (or equivalent) examination in 2022/2023 or should be appearing in 2024 from any recognized board. 
• Candidates should have studied Physics, Mathematics, and any one subject among Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational Subject in the 12th standard.
• No minimum percentage is required to appear for JEE Main 2024. However, for admissions in NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs, 75% marks is required.

• Mathematics: This section was of moderate difficulty. Weightage was given to chapters of Algebra and Calculus. Co-ordinate Geometry had questions from Circle, Parabola, Ellipse & Hyperbola. In Algebra, questions were asked about Matrices & Determinants, Probability, Statistics, Complex Numbers, Progressions- 2 questions, Permutation & Combination, Binomial Theorem, Vector- 2 questions, and 3D Geometry- 3 questions. In Calculus, questions were asked about Continuity and Differentiability, Differential Equations, Definite Integral & Area. Few MCQs & numerical-based questions had lengthy calculations and were tricky.
• Physics: This section was easy to moderate. Questions were asked from almost all chapters. Weightage was given to Current Electricity and Magnetism. Some good questions from chapters on Kinematics, Laws of Motion, Work Power & Energy, Heat & Thermodynamics, Sound & waves, Gravitation,  Electrostatics, Optics, Modern Physics, and Semiconductors. Numerical-based questions were lengthy but easy. The Physics section had more questions from the 12th standard.
• Chemistry: The section was easy. Inorganic and Organic Chemistry had more weightage. Questions asked from GOC, Alcohols, Ether & Phenols, Amines, Aldehydes & Ketones, Aryl & Alkyl Halides mixed concept questions, Biomolecules.  Physical Chemistry had questions from Mole Concepts, Thermodynamics & Chemical Kinetics.  Inorganic Chemistry had questions about Coordination Compounds, Chemical Bonding, d & f block elements & Periodicity. Some direct NCERT fact-based questions were asked. 

JEE Main 2024 registration process for Session 2 will start TOMORROW i.e., February 2, 2024. Candidates will be able to access the JEE Main 2024 application form online at jeemain.nta.ac.in. To be registered for JEE Main 2024 Session 2, the candidates will have to fill out their personal, academic and contact details. The required documents have to be uploaded and preferred exam centres have to be selected. JEE Main 2024 application fee also has to be paid online i.e., through net banking/credit card/debit card.

Overall, JEE Main 2024 1 February Shift 2 was moderately tough. Students found the Chemistry and Physics section to be easy. Mathematics was a little confusing due to the tricky nature of the questions. 

• Mathematics - This section was moderate to difficult level. A good number of questions were asked from Vectors and 3D. Integer-type questions were lengthy. Almost all the topics were covered. Questions were both lengthy and tricky which took a lot of time to solve.
• Physics - This section was of moderate level as some good questions were present in the paper. Questions from Modern Physics, Mechanics, Electromagnetism and Current electricity were present in the paper. Current electricity was prominent in the paper. The coverage of the questions was almost equal in the 11th and 12th standard.
• Chemistry - Very few questions in this shift were asked from Physical chemistry. Most of the questions were from Organic Chemistry and Inorganic Chemistry. Questions from prominent chapters like Hydrocarbons, Coordinate Bonding, coordination compounds and d-block were asked. Overall coverage of the chapters was uniform. Among the 11th and 12th standards, more questions are asked from the 12th class syllabus.

JEE Main 1 Feb 2024 Shift 2 Physics section was moderate. The questions were mostly numerical-based and the students were able to solve it. A few students found the section to be easier than the Chemistry section.

• Chemistry - The section was largely based on NCERT books. All the chapters were duly represented in the section. A few questions were based on memory-based data and were confusing. Questions from prominent chapters like Electrochemistry, Nomenclature of organic compounds, p-block, d-block and Thermodynamics were asked. Overall, the coverage of the chapters was uniform.
• Physics - According to many students, the Physics section was of easy level. Questions from Mechanics and Current electricity were duly represented in the paper. Most of the questions were asked from the 11th class syllabus. PYQ were also there in the paper.
• Mathematics - The Mathematics paper was moderate to difficult, based on students’ feedback. The questions were not that difficult but a bit calculative. Questions from Probability, Matrices, Vectors and 3D were there in the paper. Coordinate Geometry and calculus were dominant in the paper. Almost all the topics were covered.

• Mathematics – Moderate. Questions were asked from all chapters with emphasis on chapters on Calculus & Algebra. More than one question was asked from Vectors, 3D Geometry, Differential Equations & Conic Sections. In Calculus, questions asked from Continuity & Differentiability, Area, and Differential Equations. In Algebra- Probability, Binomial Theorem, Complex Numbers, Permutation & Combination, Statistics, Progressions, Matrices & Determinants. In Coordinate Geometry, questions were asked from Circles, Ellipse & Hyperbola with mixed concepts. The Numerical Section had lengthy calculations. A few questions were reported as lengthy and tricky.
• Physics – Easy to Moderate. Questions were asked from Kinematics,  Laws of Motion, Work Power & Energy, Gravitation, Circular Motion, Heat & Thermodynamics, Magnetism-2 questions, Wave Optics, Capacitance, Current Electricity, Modern Physics, Semi-Conductors. Both MCQs and Numerical based questions were lengthy. A few fact-based questions from class XII chapters of NCERT were also asked. Students felt the Physics section was balanced as per the coverage of the chapters.
• Chemistry – Easy. Organic and Inorganic Chemistry was given more weightage compared to Physical Chemistry. Questions asked from Electrochemistry, Thermodynamics, Atomic Structure, Chemical Bonding- 2 to 3 questions, General Organic Chemistry, Alcohol, Ether & Phenol, Amines, Aryl & Alkyl halides mixed concept type questions, Coordination Compounds- 2 to 3 questions, Periodic Table. Some questions were directly asked from the NCERT Textbook, which made this section Easy.

• Candidates should reach the centre before the reporting time that is mentioned in the JEE Main 2024 admit card. If the candidates reach the centre beyond the ‘Gate closing time’, then they will not be allowed to enter and attempt the exam.
• Digi Locker/ABC ID registration is recommended. The candidates who do not opt for the Digi Locker/ABC ID registraiton will have to report early on the day of the examination (at least 1 hour earlier) to get their Biometrics recorded at the exam centre.
• Prohibited items should be checked and not be brought to the exam centre.
• Candidates will be required to present their JEE Main 2024 Paper 1 admit card and identity proof at the centre.
• If the candidate goes for a toilet break, then he/she will have to undergo the mandatory frisking and biometrics again.
• After the exam, the duly-filled in admit card and rough sheet must be dropped in the designated DropBox while leaving the exam hall. Failure to do so may result in the non-evaluation of the candidate’s answer sheet.

As per the analysis of the first shift, the candidates can expect the JEE Main 1 February Shift 2 paper to be moderately difficult. The candidates are advised to be careful in the Mathematics section since there are high chances of the questions being tricky and lengthy. Physics and Chemistry and expected to be easy.

The authorities have notified the candidates to be registered through the Digi Locker/ABC ID so that their verification process is easier and faster. However, the process is not compulsory.
