JEE Main 2026 Registration Starts in October, NTA issues Advisory for Form Filling

The National Testing Agency has issued a public notice asking all the aspirants to get their documents updated prior to the JEE Mains 2026 registration. The authority has specified that the registration will commence in October 2025. With this, the JEE Main official website has also been launched at jeemain.nta.nic.in. Candidates must check the JEE website for all updates.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) released a public notice on September 29 issuing an advisory for all applicants to get their documents updated before the registration begins. The authority has also specified the JEE Main 2026 official website addresss which is, jeemain.nta.nic.in. The JEE Main registration 2026 will commence in October 2025. The exam will be held in two sessions- January and April.
The exam conducting body has specified the list of required documents that must be updated beforehand to avoid any rejection at a later stage. These documents are-Aadhaar Card, UDID Card and Category Certificates.
- Aadhaar Card should be updated with correct name, date of birth (as per Class 10th certificate), latest photograph, address and father's name.
- UDID Card is issued to Persons with Disabilities. Students must ensure that the UDID Card is valid, updated and renewed as required.
- Category Certificate should be updated and its validity should be checked. Applicants who are applying under EWS/SC/ST/OBC-NCL categories must get it renewed if required.
The authority will open the JEE Main registration link for a limited period only. Candidates can apply for either one or both sessions of the JEE Mains 2026 exam. All the official communication will take place on the JEE Main 2026 website at jeemain.nta.nic.in. With the registration set to begin in October, candidates can soon expect the JEE Main 2026 information bulletin and syllabus.

Candidates can face difficulty in payment of application fees due to various reasons like
- Slow internet connectivity while paying the fees
- Slow bank server
- Insufficient balance in bank
In case any candiate faces issues while trying to pay JEE Main application fees, they should try paying the fees after some time. Candidates can also try logging out the application form process once and then try paying application fee again after logging in. If the situation still persists, students can contact NTA JEE Main helpline number.
The documents required to fill JEE Main application form are
- Class 10 and Class 12 certificates (class 12 admit card in case appearing in the exam)
- Aadhar card details
- Scanned photograph and signature of the candidate for uploading
- Scanned copy of the category certificate (if applicable) for uploading
- Scanned copy of the PwD certificate (if applicable) for uploading
- Net banking, credit card, debit card, or UPI details for payment of the application fee
The documents which need to be uploaded has to be clearly visible, and exactly in the size, format as specified in the information brochure.

Yes, Candidates who wish to appear in both the sessions of JEE Main 2026 need to fill application form separately for all sessions. However, the JEE Main registration need to be done only once. Candidates who apply for the first session of JEE Mains 2026 can use their session 1 application number and password to login and apply for the second session. During the second session of application filling, candidates only need to enter details of paper for which appearing, exam centre preference and pay the application fees. Other details related to education, address, parents details documents uploaded are taken from the first session application process.
Candidates also have the option of filling the combined application form for both session 1 and 2 during session 2 application process.
