Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal unveils the interdisciplinary programme

The Jindal Global Law School (JGLS) of O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) has launched Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) programme in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Law. Minister of State for Law and Justice, Arjun Ram Meghwal, inaugurated the course.

This interdisciplinary programme focuses on the intersection of AI and legal systems, examining how technology influences societal structures and legal frameworks. The curriculum, spanning three years, provides students with insights into AI's impact on various fields, including ethics, governance, law enforcement, and global challenges.

Programme Highlights

First Year: Introduction to AI’s societal impact, ethical considerations, and foundational legal skills.

Second Year: Exploration of AI in art, entertainment, sports, and law enforcement, along with cross-disciplinary electives.

Third Year: Focus on global challenges like climate change, terrorism, and human rights through AI applications.

Clinical Learning: The sixth semester emphasizes practical experience, requiring students to evaluate real-world AI projects and participate in onsite visits to AI enterprises.

Skills Development: Graduates will gain expertise in policy formulation, regulatory frameworks, AI system evaluation, and scenario mapping.

Admission and Selection

Applicants must have completed 10+2 education from a recognized board, and the programme is open to students from all streams. Admission is based on national-level entrance exams such as LNAT-UK, JSAT-LAW, CLAT-UG, or CUET-UG. Merit-cum-means scholarships are available for eligible students meeting the university’s criteria.

Graduates can pursue a three-year LL.B. degree after completing this course, positioning themselves at the forefront of AI policy, governance, and legal practice.
