Cummins India is inviting young minds from 19 premier B-schools to reimagine energy solutions for a sustainable future

Cummins India Limited has begun inviting application for the 8th edition of ‘REDEFINE 2025’, annual business school case study competition. The contest is designed to empower young business minds, the competition invites participation from students across 19 premier B-schools nationwide, providing them with an opportunity to tackle real-world industry challenges.

The theme of this year’s competition is “From Backup to Backbone: Driving the Energy Shift.” As per Cummins India, the theme reflects the growing need to adapt to a rapidly evolving energy landscape driven by renewables, decarbonization, and changing customer expectations.

Participants will be challenged to explore innovative service models such as energy, renewable integration, and grid connected solutions. These models will address evolving energy needs in a sustainable and impactful manner.

REDEFINE 2025: Eligibility and Prize Money

REDEFINE 2025 is open to first and second-year students enrolled in the PGP/PGDM/PGDBM/MBA programs at B-schools. The competition will have  multiple rounds, and conclude with a grand finale at the Cummins India Office Campus in Pune, Maharashtra, on November 13 & 14, 2025.

This year the winning team will receive a cash prize along with an exclusive invitation to join Cummins India’s mentorship program.

As many as 3,780 students participating across 1,260 teams from 18 leading institutions in the 2024 edition of REDEFINE. The competition concluded with the team from Symbiosis Centre for Management and Human Resource Development (SCMHRD), Pune, emerging as champions, while the team from Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Tiruchirappalli, secured the runner-up position.

Q:   Can I get admission at SIBM Pune without entrance exam?
A:

The requirement of entrance exam varies course-wise. Aspirants seeking admission in Executive PGDM do not require passing an entrance test. The selection is based on performance of the candidates in the personal interview round. For MBA courses, candidates do need to pass SNAP. Selected candidates have to futher pass GEPI round for final admission.

Admission to PGPWE or Executive MBA course is based on CAT,  GMAT and GATE score. Candidates are shortlisted for the WAT and PI round on the basis of their performance in the CAT, scholastic achievement and relevant work experience. CAT is the computer-based test conducted for providing admission to PGPWE course.
