“When Will MAH CET 2020 counselling begin?” This question is on the minds of over one lakh MBA aspirants who qualified MAH CET MBA/MMS exam this year. The DTE, Maharashtra conducts Centralised Admission Process (CAP) based on MAH CET score every year between June and July, but this year, due to the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, the admission process through MAH CET has been completely thrown out of the gear. Firstly, the MAH CET 2020 result declaration was delayed by two months and now the counselling process is delayed. Neither DTE, Maharashtra nor the State CET has shared any communication regarding the MAH CET 2020 counselling.
It is a matter of worry for the MBA aspirants as the AICTE has already announced the last date (August 17, 2020) on which all approved B-schools have to complete MBA/PGDM admission process.
However, considering the severity of Coronavirus spread in Maharashtra, it is the State CET Cell will face difficulty in taking any decision regarding MAH CET counselling, as the process includes, physical presence of candidates at the facilitation centres for CAP registration and at the institute for confirmation of admission. On July 9, Maharashtra's overall tally of COVID 19 cases was 2,23,724, the state health department said. The total recoveries recorded so far is 1,23,193 in the state. There are 100,532 active cases in the state.
