As seen above in the official statement of the CTET Director, the CTET exam pattern and the syllabus will remain the same and the only change will be in the level of question paper. The CTET question paper will now contain questions that will assess candidates’ conceptual understanding, application, reasoning, problem-solving and critical thinking.

The question paper of CTET Paper 1 and Paper 2 was set in a manner to test candidates’ factual knowledge. However, now the focus of the CTET paper will be less on factual knowledge and more on testing the understanding of teaching the subject, candidates’ pedagogic content knowledge and knowledge relevance of the subject in the school curriculum.
